  1. Of species I have caught, bluefish rank very high on the bad attitude list. I rank large seatrout as one of the best"never give up" species.
  2. Air and water temps matter a lot. Warm temps should constitute an "asap" like 30 seconds. Cold temps are way more forgiving for time out of the water and for good recovery chances. C22
  3. YES I could=====if he is forced to wear a catchers mit on one hand. Would love to see his face if he were to read this thread.
  4. Funny stories. If you own or launch a boat, your gonna mess it up sometime==that's a given. My neighbor ,right proud of his new Ford pickup, launched the 22' boat and proceeded to the far end of the parking lot, that is a far piece away. He didn`t want the chance of anyone hitting the shiny new truck. He returned to find no plug had been put in and the boat was sinking. Not a sprinter by any means he made it to the truck and hurried to the ramp. Excited, he could not get the trailer in straight and managed to bash the truck rear fender on the dock.He tried again but still not good enough to load. So he jumped into waist deep water ,wallet and cell phone in pockets to plug the hole. Once finally on the trailer he nearly blew the tires with the extra weight. He still is unable to laugh about it. Of course being the considerate soul I am I don`t gig him with it BWWAAAAhahahah C22
  5. I used to be schizophrenic but we`re OK now
  6. Not much good in my world except to strip the white belly off for flounder teasers
  7. After 49 yrs there have been no tornados in our relationship, just a few dust devils. The one thing I learned not to do is call her by her mothers name. C22

  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yv5tmt64uE Check the vid. I go with white bass. Ks record is 5lbs + so its possible.
  11. Hostel was creepy.
  12. A face even a mother has trouble with. Oyster Crackers=aka toads, all mouth, mother in laws + some more unmentionables. Virtually good for nothing but stealing bait. Slime city with some chompers to do damage.
  13. These critters are bull dogs in the rock piles. Baits ==shrimp, green crabs, sand fleas, fiddler crabs, fresh clam. So much a thief they are. Sometime its tap tap==bait is gone try again. Highly sought after for their taste, they suffer lots of pressure this time of year. The regs tighten every year ,rightfully so too. These have been cut to bleed out
  14. A little civil disobedience is a good thing if done right. The anti`s are trying to take from us, so pushing and shoving back is OK by me. It bothers me that they want to play God by killing one species to save another. BASS LIVES MATTER
  15. Well said. I happen to be familiar with the NC thing. Its sad. The fed judge in that case is highly biased and probably bought and paid for. This situation is highly indicative of how dangerous the Endangered Species Act can be when used by the wrong people. To harm or disturb any creature on the ESA list can result in absurd fines and punishment.
  16. Your mentioned lures should work. I have been reading about jigging spoons such as the Stingsilver doing well. Have fun C22
  17. 20 or 30 lb braid/mono leader would probably get more distance for you. Some of the lures you might try are heavy enough to go the distance you need.Spoons,Rebel wind cheaters,or bucktail jigs even with an inline sinker ahead of them. I have yet to surf Fla,but up here often times the fish are no more than a short cast in the suds, particularly at high tide. Often times I will cast almost parallel to the shore line. Other times you have to get a bait past the first bar to do good. Landing /releasing fish in the suds is a lot different than in a boat.Plan ahead what to do with your rod/reel while dealing with a fish. Laying them in the sand is not an option.
  18. NIce catch and great food too. They are bulldogs.
  19. Catch 22 replied to Josh Smith's topic in Other Fish Species
True imo too.Such is the case with salt critters such as tog, sheeps, triggers.
  20. Always a favorite movie in my family. I may watch it again this eve. http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/20/entertainment/back-to-the-future-day-feat/
  21. X2===he is a wealth of knowledge
  22. Well it happened to me today, first time in 30 years + I stuck a 3/0 octopus hook in past the barb. I cut all the line away and doubled up the 20 lb braid for the pull.I was able to hold down the eyelet with an adjacent finger. One distinct snap pull got it out.. It hurt like a severe bee sting for a minute, bled some. I broke out the virgin first aid kit, patched it and went back to catching. It really helped to know the removal method.
  23. Usually around 2 to 4 am,that when I`m in the fourth stage of sleep ==dreaming away.
