  1. Same lure designer.
  2. Yep. I havent purchased a rod in a store in ten years. But then again I am crazy, as implied.
  3. If you're going to spend $700 on a rod (which you should, rods are cool 🐒), you have to compare it to the NRX+, Evoluzion, Ultima, and unicorn JDM rods. Heck, save a bit more and you're in ARMS. That is some stiff competition.
  4. Tell me who at St Croix is designing these handles. I just want to talk.
  5. I throw walking baits and poppers on the same rod and I'm not happy about it. 6'10 M Adrena, braid to leader, sucks with 3/4 oz baits. I throw buzzbaits on either 7'3 MH Adrena or 7'1 H Valkyrie, if the Adrena has fluoro on it. The Valkyrie usually has a frog on it. I would rather throw a small rat than a plopper. CL8 Baits Vole which can go on either of the above.
  6. Sensitivity is just part of the equation. A big part sometimes, but still. Balance, action, versatility are all part of it. Plus P5 is $150 ish less? No denying NRX spinning are crazy sensitive. If it's your bag, go get em.
  7. I like the P5, X10, and the previous Adrena. Nothing compares to NRX for sensitivity. I can count rocks and navigate snags with my 853c. I can't do that to the same degree with other rods or even an 843c. However if someone was going to offer me a new 873 at cost, welllll I would probably say yes.
  8. Minimum Advertised Price. Like MSRP but mandatory. In this case it's MAP. Same for Daiwa.
  9. Also MAP I think.
  10. If you want a very good Senko/light T rig/finesse jig rod, the 853c is it. If you want a very good dragging rod for 1/2 oz footballs jigs, with some versatility, the 873c is that. I just tend to prefer different actions than Loomis offers. All they bring to the table is sensitivity. Also IMO their JWR rods cast like 💩.
  11. Mom said its my turn to post the Shimano price increase thread.
  12. This has been Hot Girl Drop Shot Summer. This week I've been power shotting 6" Robos on straight 50 lb. Good results. Flying through Roboworms though. The Free Rig is going to come back into rotation more when the grass dies down a bit. They're different tools in the box. It's also difficult to Free Rig a 4" curly tail worm.
  13. Good quality abrasion resistant fluorocarbon or CXX. It's really the small pike you have to worry about. Wire is a good option if you're not willing to risk the loss.
  14. Jackall Kaera or Evergreen Kicker
  15. Because I don’t have kids, quit drinkin', and no longer have to buy $1200 sets of irons.
  16. Gremlins. Bad spools happen. Not as often as people claim, but it's possible.
  17. I used it for years and it's fine. Really helps relax coiled line late in the season. I no longer spray fresh line.
  18. Bullshooter Gillsoft 130 And a PB Rat. It's definitely a glide. Trust me.
  19. Largemouth probably don't care. Smallmouth do but my Smallmouth are a-holes so we ignore them. Big Game is a relatively thick line. Even at 8 lb, .28 mm puts you near 12 lb fluorocarbon. Sometimes lighter line allows a bait to work better or present more naturally.
  20. Always keep a spare reel in the bag. I love overhanging branches. Probably have another in the car as well.
  21. No definitely not. Definitely. Please buy more.
  22. Yeah these look good. I'll have a couple 3600's when they're readily available.
