  1. Tat reel mates well with tat rod. They were made for each other
  2. I'd second the KISS in regards to colors. There are a lot of skirt options out there to get you spun out. Bluegill colors are fine and I have some, but green pumpkin is also a very accurate representation sometimes more so than the skirts with large strands of orange and blue. I also use white which can be used in dirty water. I also have versions of both with chartreuse strands to make them stand out (and smallmouth love chartreuse). I use boottails almost exclusively for trailers.
  3. I bought a 1/4 revenge swimjig. Not much smaller than 3/8. Matches size of shad better and with a trailer it adds weight to toss it further.
  4. Go to the big bass zone website and look at their bbz rat videos
  5. Scents don't work for bass like they do a rutting buck. Scents are basically flavoring that keeps the bass munching on your bait while you stare at your smart phone.
  6. Tw has the bbz1 40mm rat for sale and probably the 30mm soon. Can't wait til my rat comes in the mail!
  7. Catching bass when others don't even leave the house is highly satisfying. If you wish to maximise success hit a power plant lake or go during or immediately after a warm rain and fish the feeder creeks.
  8. I had a boater show me a secret spot recently that we pulled 2 5 and a half pounders from in middle of lake. Nobody ever fished it and was sworn to secrecy. I'll never fish it unless I'm alone recreation fishing, with my dad or in a tournament that the boater is not in. He gave me a courtesy that helped me a lot and I don't plan on leaking it so everyone else will turn it into a community hole.
  9. Most soft plastics and hardbaits will weight 3/8 to 5/8. So any rod that handles that range will be good, which is typically MH.
  10. Just starting to skip you should turn brakes and tension up to wear you don't birdsnest when casting without your thumb...then back off with experience.
  11. I'll be brutally honest here. Its Wendy's. Not a career. There are other places. And in your boss's defense, she deals with manipulative entitled teenagers and middle age drug addicts on a daily basis. If you cconsistently are not treated with due respect then contact franchise owner or move on
  12. Get a qtip and run it around the guide. Cotton will get stuck to any abrasive edge
  13. Boat flipping double digit bass? Hahahahahahahaha
  14. With water The lure will sink into water if your angle is off. With concrete? You either smash your lure or it keeps sliding. You could try to keep the lure at as a straight trajectory as possible with it barely touching ground.
  15. My boater two weeks ago caught a 17 1/4 over 3 pounds.
  16. I've never cut myself tying a knot.... Pulling braid from a snag I have...
  17. Abrasion resistence around docks and timber. Also, I use my jig rod for buzzbaits. If I had a dedicated buzzbait setup I wouldn't use flouro and if I did I'd probably use one of the value options as they are in the price range of a modest spool of braid.
  18. If you want a real squarebill then get a balsa squarebill. Otherwise I'd suggest spro. Very versatile even though their bill isn't truly square.even. come through cover well and suspend which is great when hitting cover and pausing
  19. I use FC all the time with buzzbaits and poppers... Guess I must be defying nature.
  20. Rage, roboworm, gambler Covers it all
  21. It's a moving bait, flourocarbon doesn't have time to sink.
  22. 5lb 10 oz. Missed big fish by 1 oz. 2nd biggest fish of year for the club.
  23. I was thinking of the 4xhdi but I doubt the quality is there to justify the price. I have a down imaging humminbird on the tracker and the DI isn't much different from sonar. It's the 1000 dollar plus systems that have the real picture quality.
  24. But did you haul him out of a thicket of thorny brush?
