Bobber Stops (Dumb Question)
How about a different dumb bobber stop question? Does anyone else worry about the structural integrity of the line when it bends to get the stopper applicator tool off? I cut off the line at the 'bend' because I don't trust the line there....it isn't a long length of line, but it chews up leader faster than normal.

Rage Twin Tail Menace : Favorite Ways To Rig ?
UKCAT and Midwest, thank you. I haven't tried that combo yet (swing jig/menace), but I have no idea why not, since every other Rage Tail plastic shines on a Biffle Hardhead...almost like Big-O, Tommy Biffle and Gene Larew got together to cook up match made in heaven intentionally.

It's Almost Blade Bait Time
Also check out Barlows. You can experiment with finish, eyes, hooks, etc for a lot less cash. Good action on these.

Thanks, riva. Looking forward to working with them/you.

Monofilament Vs Copoly
Another big Yo-Zuri fan here. Only line I use other than braid. The ONLY thing that is slightly negative, or you need to watch out for, is that when doubled over and 'creased', it can become brittle. Pays to be careful with backlashes and knotting. Rarely a problem, but something to be aware of. Other than that, it is incredibly strong. I use 8# and 15# for mainline and as leader material. Extremely strong and abrasion resistant. Memory properties far better than any flouro or mono I've tried, so its great on spinning reels. KVD L&L makes it even better - YZ responds very well to KVD L&L

Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
riva, Thanks for the post. I sure wish I was going to be in town this weekend. I wasn't even aware of the organization, but I'd have loved to come out and help/encourage, whatever. I looked the site over, but it doesn't appear there's a chapter up here. You with the 'Central VA' chapter? I'd love to discuss and learn more about them.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Rod?
I have a Rage that I like a lot. At $89, they're a steal. I'm working up a justification to myself to get another.

Did I See A Reel Giveaway Yesterday
I don't see it either....but I clicked the link in the email I got and the contest is still open for a couple more days. Not sure how to get you there without the email.

Go To Brands For Plastics
I use many different brands, but if I was faced with having to make a decision to use only one, it would be easy. Rage Tail. With a Cut-R's, Structure Bugs, Anacondas and Rage Craws, I'd be pretty well set....might need to sneak in a few Roboworms, but most of my fishing would be covered.

First Aid Contents For My Boat/tackle Bag
Frankly, I'm sorta puzzled at the stress on tourniquets....."most important item" on your boat? I'm no medical professional, but I have been exposed to some pretty extensive first aid training over the years. My issue lies with the 'fact' that traumatic limb injury resulting in ruptured artery(ies) is fairly rare and unless you're using a chainsaw in your boat, I don't think its a high risk in that environment...unless you think you'll split someone with your prop, I suppose. I was always taught that the use of tourniquets by the 'untrained' carried more risk than reward value. I don't have any data to back up anything, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if more harm than good has been done with tourniquets by well meaning, but untrained 'civilians'. I suggest leaving the tourniquet out and make room for a new "most important item"....maybe an extra pfd, or flashlight, or quart can for bailing, or air horn, or extra length of rope, or....

Favorite Star Wars Film?
There could not be a comment written that I'd agree with more. Anything with an ewok or jar jar is automatically eliminated from consideration. The first one released is clearly the best - groundbreaking. Empire Strikes was pretty good, too.

Flipping/pitching/punching Rod (Under $150)
I've had a 7'11" H Mat Daddy for a few months and love it. It punches, it flips, it deep cranks, it throws smaller swimbaits....the only thing I have asked it to do that wasn't totally satisfactory was deep carolina rigging -- just didn't have the sensitivity I wanted for that. But, it will launch a 10XD into the next county. If that's what you decide to do, I suggest you go to redsgear, sign up for their email - wait 2 minutes for the coupon to arrive and get yours for $100 shipped.

Rod Experts Every Rod Is Different
I'm struggling with this point.... Materials aside, the terms power and action, as used by most who have contributed here, apply to flex, arc, physical shape, response to force, etc. All of which should be measurable regardless of material. I'm no mathematician or engineer, but I'm 99% certain that a standard for the commonly accepted terms of 'power' and 'action' could be developed.....IF the 'industry' wanted to.

Unbearable
I must be getting old, because I wanted to defend her to the idiotic comments....sure she's annoying....but, d**n...she's got the cajones to solo kayak around Alaska....as whiny as she was, I didn't hear fear in her voice. I just wish she'd edited the sound out before posting it. I applaud her.

First Aid Contents For My Boat/tackle Bag
The only thing not listed that I have in mine (and have used in last 10 years) is a couple 2-packs of ibuprofren. Really, all I ever use with any regularity is bandaids and antibiotic. I'd consider adding one of those 2 oz bottles of JD....for emergencies

Best Lures And Techniques For Shore Fishing
http://www.bassresource.com/content/search?SearchText=shore&BrowsePageLimit=30 Check out the Articles section. Tons of great info. If you have more specific questions, feel free to post here. What equipment are you going to use? And, what's your largemouth bass fishing experience? Tough to know where to start....

Shimano Saros Issue
Would you describe it as 'binding'? If so, a search of just this site will give you lots of discussion about Shimano spinning reels binding, particularly Symetres. This is the only thread I've seen where the owner seems to have 'fixed' the problem: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/140041-shimano-symetre-binding-follow-up/

Thoughts On The Twin Spin Spinnerbaits?
TW has had War Eagle twins on sale for some time now. I've managed to put add one to each of three orders over the last several months. I haven't gotten a bite on one, so I don't throw them a lot....or, I don't throw them a lot so I haven't gotten a bite on one yet..... First time with one tied on, I didn't get anything, but immediately started getting bit when I changed to a 'regular' spinnerbait; so, I use one on occasion, but not with much confidence or for very long.

Jigs Up
Have you experimented with a number of different head shapes? Took me quite a while to figure out what shapes and eye positions work best for me in which conditions. I didn't realize for a long time that what I took to be very subtle difference made a huge difference in how they come through different conditions. For the mostly timber, sometimes rocky conditions that I generally fish, I have trouble losing Siebert's Arky and Brush Jigs. I'm sure it also has something to do with the way I fish them, but these work for me. I tried a few others and even if they look the same, if the eye is closer to the 'top', or the weed guard is angled a little different....or whatever other slight differences, I may not go a cast or two without sticking it in something other than a bass mouth. BTW, why is your fish drinking a Coke?

Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
I blame the downpour, but I can't describe the boat well. If I had to guess, I think it was flat bottom with light hull....tiller, I believe

Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
Spoke briefly with a helpful fisherman Sat who improved my day significantly and I thought it might have been you. If I see him again, I will thank him. He told me he had success with spinnerbaits in flats. Sure enough, I put that info to work successfully and improved upon what had been a pretty slow day.
