Transporting 1 Piece Rods
My wife got me this for Christmas last year and I've had one or more rods (as many as 12) in it ever since. Love it. http://www.basspro.com/Rod-Saver-Vehicle-Rod-Carrier/product/15989/ Works great in my SUV. No reason it shouldn't work in a van, as well.

Question On 3Rd Reel/rod Purchase
Have you seen this thread already? You may already have it narrowed down sufficiently, but there's a lot of good info in there. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130634-rod-selection-the-basics/

Win 2 New Reels!
Never understood why consumer scales for use in the US would even use decimals as an option. Ounces is standard unit of measurement here...messed up as that may be....and x.yy pounds is a certain recipe for confusion in nearly any context.

Win 2 New Reels!
? I think Buzzed was correct earlier. I didn't read any posts complaining about anything. I think there was a genuine generosity suggesting 'if I win, please share my good fortune'. However, even had there been a complaint as you describe, I can't think of a context that would bolster your opinion on society.

No idea what I just watched...reminded me of The Rock in Be Cool

Hook Keeper
My Abu rods have them. And I've learned why not all companies want to copy. When you're flipping or picking out 'professional overruns', the slack line between the reel and the first guide can, at times, get caught up in there. My Okuma TCS has it down near the rear grip so it doesn't get in the way....unless you grab the working end of a hook when grabbing the handle to take the rod out of the truck.

Shiner Imitator Swimjig Colors?
If you're looking to get a swimjig, checkout Siebert Outdoors. Mike's got a couple skirts that might work for you; Silver Minnow and Golden Shiner. I'd also check out Keitech Swing Impact or Fat in Silver Flash or Gold Flash

Manufacturers That Make A 7" Soft Jerkbait???
I hate it when people respond this way...but...anyway...They aren't exactly flukey...and they aren't 7", either....but, can I assume that you've tried and discounted 6" Sluggos? - they do come in a few more colors than Zooms

Shiner Imitator Swimjig Colors?
What color are your shiners? I have called a pretty wide spectrum of different colored minnows 'shiners'.

Kayak Footwear For Fall (And Winter?)
http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/footwear/zipit-bootie-ii.html http://www.amazon.com/NRS-Work-Neoprene-Kayak-Shoes-Black-10/dp/B0030H9HYU http://www.amazon.com/NeoSport-Wetsuits-Explorer-5mm-Boot/dp/B00358X114 These three look like where I want to go with this. Probably more like the latter two. I think the first is a little short.

Got My First Big Kayak Tournament Coming Up
Sounds like great advice, WPC. I've never fished a kayak tournament, but if I apply above advice to a couple of recent outings, I think that I'd make a couple changes to my 'routine'. A windy day last weekend, I spend a LOT of time picking out backlashes -- I was too stubborn to admit that I needed to adjust the reel...or my delivery...or thought I'd get over it. So, I would tighten the brakes just a little more than I do on a 'fun fishing' day -- Seems like a good idea to give up a yard or two but get more casts in. In a similar vein, I'd get my drop shot/shakey head/fluke rod out the day before and meticulously untwist it for at least 70 yards....and then douse it in KVD L&L. Make every cast count and minimize time doing something other than casting or paddling to productive spots.

Kayak Footwear For Fall (And Winter?)
Sandals been perfect for the kayak this first year of fishing from it. I suspect another 10-15 degree drop of water temp and that may not still be the case. What do you wear on your feet when the air and water temps start dropping into the 50's? Below?

Copperheads In Bass' Mouths???
Thanks for that. Interesting....I was with the guy until this part "… and dropped it into the forward foot well of his kayak." Certifiable.

Bullet Swing Jigs?
Seemed to me to be a very minor difference, but I've found that the closer the two 'loops' on the weight are to 90 degrees, or just under, the less it will hang up. I find that Biffle Hardheads come through better than any other I've tried; and they have big fat head. I've tried others that spread the loops closer to 135 degrees or more, and those tend to get stuck a lot more.

Check This Thing Out
FN, I assume you were replying to my comment....if so, you are correct. I hadn't noticed before. I was fixated on the words and picture of six, evenly spaced rod holders around the outside. But, you have brought something else to mind now that I look at this closer. The seat isn't included...or even offered. So the seat (and 3-rod holder on the back) must be purchased separately. By the time you get motor, battery, seat, pedestal, rod holder, trailer, anchor, paddle...yikes...at first $1600 sounds like might be sort of doable...if it were for 'everything seen here'...toss in an additional $400+ and its getting to be an expensive round piece of plastic.

Check This Thing Out
I like the concept, but I suspect I'd have a problem with rod and paddle storage. At least on the kayak, I can put three spare rods in essentially the same location (behind me.) You start spacing them upright around the donut and casting becomes a real challenge.

Northern Pikes Vs Bass
Since dad taught me the 5 fillet method years ago, I've had no problems w them.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.burnettcounty.com/DocumentView.asp%3FDID%3D59&ved=0CE8QFjAMahUKEwj6xq-XsP_HAhXF1B4KHShxCqs&usg=AFQjCNHAb2B2EcNeI9GMRJ1M2jGZy5lTEQ&sig2=nRDRMAZbLZYrWnC0OlXflg

Lost Tackle Bag At Fountainhead Launch - Reward
Must have been something in the air yesterday for losing stuff. My wife found a $100 bill outside a strip mall in Woodbridge yesterday. We waited over half hour for someone to come looking for it.

Agreed, Sean. Amazing how much anguish hammer handles cause compared to how much joy the monsters bring.

Lost Tackle Bag At Fountainhead Launch - Reward
+1 I'd like to think your chances are 'reasonable'. Seems that weeknights there's decent chance of 'regulars' coming across it. If it was picked up by any of the folks that I see there regularly, I'd like to think you'll get it back.

Fishing Backpack
I've become a big fan of Field Supply. Their gear is top notch and their everyday prices can't be beat. But their sales are something else altogether. I'm using this pack and absolutely love it: http://www.fieldsupply.com/fieldline-tactical-alpha-ops-pack.html Extremely good quality; well designed with lots of pockets and plenty of space in main compartment for 3 or 4 3700's or half a dozen gallon bags of full of plastics. Paid less than $30 shipped and couldn't be happier.
