surf fishing with bass gear
Search my old posts in this forum Go into St Andrews state park and wade the flats. If you’re going all that way I’d suggest picking up a few lures recommended by the locals. But if not try ~3 in paddle tails, flukes, small spoons pm me if you want more info

Saltwater anyone?
Yeah @Darren. -- you're in trouble now! @ThatredneckguyJamieThough I have a big issue with your college football allegiance... ...the answer to your question is a resounding YES! I'm lucky enough to have my folks retired in Hilton Head so I've targeted and caught just about everything the Low Country has to offer inshore. Reds, trout, mackeral, cobia, sheepshead, tarpon, flounder, sharks, jacks. The family and I typically end up in PCB in the fall and I take that opportunity to both fish nearshore as well as wade the flats at St Andrews Park. All types of snapper and grouper, amberjacks, kings, spanish, triggerfish, tripletail, mahi from the boat and trout and reds by foot. Also been lucky enough to fish Sebastian, Miami, Orange Beach, Boston, St Lucia and a few other locations. The part that really irritates me is that the place where I've had the least fishing success by guide and by foot is Key West (the friggin' "sportfishing capital of the world"!). I'm very eager to add snook and permit to my caught species list. Planning a fishing trip for my 40th this year. Venice, LA is on the short list. "Clean, old-fashioned hate" will always divide us, but at least we can agree that saltwater fishing is great

Game Of The Century!
I was really rooting for a meteor strike. But UGA losing in excruciating fashion was a good consolation prize. They call it "Clean, old-fashioned hate" for a reason!

Kistler Helium 3 vs Klx
The LMH May be worth considering if 3/16 oz is your primary weight

Kistler Helium 3 vs Klx
H3s are a little stiffer and faster in action. For that technique, I think the H3 is the better choice though the KLX is certainly more than capable. Which models you considering? Don't be shy about emailing Kistler directly to ask for their recommendation.

St Croix ~ Warranty Program
Appreciate the notice but I’m full-up on travel rods at the moment. Had this been a year ago I’d have been all over it but I picked up a few inshore travel spinning rods at Cabelas.

St Croix ~ Warranty Program
Yup, wouldn’t be a trip down South without Ajay killing a rod

Need help "walking the dog" with top water frog
Your description that the frog keeps bobbing up and down tells me that you don't have enough slack in the line. I face EXACTLY the same issue when I first throw a frog after not throwing one for a while. Take me a few casts to remember how to make it all work For me, the twitching motion for frogs is shorter and softer than I do with walk-the-dog plugs. When you twitch the rod tip, make sure you complete the motion by bring the rod towards you, and then returning the tip TOWARDS the frog. I've always heard the recommendations on leg trimming and loops knots, but I've never experienced either of those hacks making a difference for me.
