  1. Yea had a trip to Germany last summer, drove a volvo D40 turbo diesel, amazing car, I dunno why they dont offer it in the US.... I agree with the Soul, very comfortable to drive, my wife and I are tall and it fits us perfectly, decent gas mileage and plenty of trunk/backseat room especially with the seats folded down. Read the reviews up on it and 90% are good with most people complaining of the cup holders... We got a 2011 with 30k miles loaded to the gills for just under 11k....
  2. Yea...... ya can get another sub compact gasser that easily gets 40+mpg for half that. At least ya thought ecofriendly first. Hey,its the thought that counts...Right?
  3. Yea the argoblast buzz plug is definitely odd, I own one, got it wet a few times with no luck. I think it may be more of a novelty to me...
  4. Ohhhh I got ya bud, read the OP wrong. I would be interested to know also, the only experience with soft body frogs Ive had are the YUM and they sink like a rock...
  5. Spro bronzeye 65 frog works well for me, I haven't had any issues with it sinking , now the bronzeye shad on the other hand seems to sink in a matter of seconds...
  6. What kinda setup do you throw it with?
  7. Finally made it out freshwater fishing for the first time this summer and determined to catch my first jig fish....Sure enough a Siebert outdoors 3/8 Dredge brush jig hooked into this lil piggy on the drop... Caught a 3 more afterwards around the same laydown, Thanks again Mike, your jigs are second to none!!
  8. Ticks are an everyday battle here on MD eastern shore, I think its a prerequisite to have Lymes disease to live here, thank goodness I dont carry it but my wife, her parents quite a few buddies and all 3 dogs have it. This morning I actually woke up with two stuck to me. I grew up in western PA and saw maybe 3 ticks my whole time there. Within a day of moving to MD I saw more than my entire life in PA. It seems no matter what precautions I take they just end up everywhere, Dogs are treated but they can still drag them into the house with em. Best thing I found is to just check once you get home and a couple days afterwards. It really does seem like they end up everywhere.
  9. This right here....
  10. Holy cow....We got none of that over here. A light drizzle all day yesterday but that was it.
  11. Awesome, thanks for all the replies and info guys. Ill try an get ahold of Vince over there and see if Im on the right track.
  12. Im looking into buying one of their rods and would like to know how true their weight ratings are. Anyone who has one could ya please chime in and lemme know what ya think? Thanks in advance.
  13. What kinda rig setup are you using? I normally use a double drop rig with 5/0 or 6/0 circle hooks. I would start trying other bait also. If they are in there its just a matter of finding what bait they want. Fresh sand fleas/mole crabs are another killer bait. I also suggest giving the artificial lures a try, 90% of my stripers are caught on em. Try changing up the times you fish also if you can, try early am or late pm with a moving tide. everything Ive mentioned here is what I practice in Ocean City, MD and Assateague Island and its worked so far. Also the main run of stripers last I heard is only off of the coast of NY, so maybe the next few weeks will be more productive for ya.
  14. Yup anti-freeze, engine oil, jet fuel, skydrol, transmission fluid, de-ice fluid etc. sometimes smell just dosent do it...
  15. If your gonna go with bait I would suggest bunker or softshell crabs. Other than that I would use artificial.(All I use for em) Soft plastic swimbaits/flukes pink, white or chartreuse ranging from 5" to 9" on a lead head of chosen weight, gotcha plugs, gulp swimming mullets 5-6" etc. They gotta be in there tho, keep an eye on local fishing reports and dont waste your time fishing slack tide, best time is either tide going out or coming in.
  16. What kind of water are you fishing? Surf, inshore etc?
  17. Just FYI....If the battery is low, only used distilled water to refill it. As far as a taste test, well being a lifelong mechanic, Im not opposed to it. Try Skydrol sometime, non toxic, yet its a burn like no other....
  18. I use a "fish-finder" setup along with frozen silversides or cut chunk bait. Essentially a 1 or a 1 1/2 oz egg sinker loose on the main line with a 4/0 or 5/0 circle hook. The loose sinker lets the fish take the bait wothout the weight of the sinker affecting it. My rig isint as heavy as the one pictured for cats but the same idea.
  19. That is quite epic.... 13 billion light years is almost unimaginable.
  20. Alright Ill shoot em a email then, Ive dealt with em before and their CS is pretty good. I appreciate the advice fellas. My SPRO frog works great, I was 90% sure it wasnt me but ya never know.
  21. I picked up a spro bronzeye shad the other day and took it out on the water. First few cast it worked well retrieving but then it wouldn't stay on top of the water. Within a few feet of my retrieve it took on water and sank like a brick. Is it my technique or the lure that's an issue?
  22. Got me laughing pretty good
  23. Thats side scan imaging right? I have a Lowrance 4x thats dual beam. 83/200 I beleive. What model are you using? Would it be more beneficial to go with side scan in shallower ponds?
  24. What would be the minimum depth you would use your FF? 75% of the water I fish on is anywhere from 1-ft to a max of 14ft and Im not sure if my fish finder is really beneficial in the fact that it only scans such a small portion at a time being so shallow. I haven't noticed any increase in the fish I catch either. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated if I am wasting my time with the FF.
  25. The one any only reason why is because you wont admit to it!!!! Im gonna hit the welbutrin and patches again, worked for the first time, and 3 years after, making the withdrawl that much easier. I commmend the ones before me for the "cold turkey" more of a person than I am. Its about more than me this time though.
