  1. More guides = more guide insert failures.. I've never seen or heard of more insert failures than I have the last several years..( micro ) I realize all guides are not created equal, nonetheless, the problem still exist.. Plus grams do add to a ounce..Still, I agree a builder can create a rod based on his own or well accepted, modern engineering knowledge and apply it his way..
  2. Try throwing 5 oz ... See if your rod loads better, maybe try lead bank sinkers in the yard, saving wear & tear on your swimbaits.. Seems like your rod may not be loading properly...
  3. You would be wiser to have a custom build done. You could have one built for less than you may think...
  4. I'm throwing a flag on this! 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct.... You can't say b***h on a fishing forum!
  5. I agree, slightly premature to state that, lol
  6. Denver has struggled for a few weeks now, My question is will Peyton retire? He looked great first 8 or 9 weeks but has looked tired as of late. I hope he plays on!!!
  7. Time to build more rods!
  8. They are tough baits too, Crankinstien, a member here caught a potential state record Striper and the bait held up, hooks held up, albeit slight deformed but held... I believe they are worth the money, especially over Rapala Dt series.. Don't get me wrong, I like balsa baits, I've broke a few of the Dt 6 and at $9 a pop... There's better baits, Spro being one.
  9. The Zombie thread... It's undead!
  10. Sure have, Bluegills, panfish ( juveniles ) will take a small bite whenever they get a chance! It can be annoying as well.
  11. Seems as though it prematurely aged the cork, as in the way a good 5 or 6 year old well used cork handled rod would appear, after years of sun, rain, etc.. This was a loomis cork handle. A lot of filler came out too. I was surprised. So many folks say it's the best way to clean cork... I used the extra strength and store branded { Kroger } I also use these at times on stainless cooking vessels, etc. works nicely on SS. The cork had a slight, what seems like a slight dimensional change. Something from the eraser caused this on this loomis handle. I can't determine more than that though. So for me, I will still use 0000 wool. Also I don't u40 on my cork either. I've never had a cork handle rust from shards of steel being trapped in the cork, though I can see where that may occur, it hasn't for me. Maybe loomis has dumbed down the cork too, lol..
  12. That's sad, been thru this myself a few times.. I'd echo the ideal about getting another dog. I remember when my Prized German Shepard became ill and died, I said I would never replace her, but a year later I got another dog... Add another family member, they truly are "Mans best friend" Best wishes...
  13. I think your right on it being a channel kitty.. Heck of a battle though by the sound of it. Those baits must be the deal in Florida these days, I hear a lot of guys doing well with them. Congrats...
  14. Wow! That's dangerous, glad you didn't get hurt. What morons! Stay safe...
  15. Yep, he shoulda been ejected from the game! Lol Shady Brady...
  16. Yea he's a whinny baby, still a good QB though... Plus he gets away with it,
  17. Great Game! I'm not surprised that the pat's won. Next..
  18. Curado I Core 50 the list is endless between Shimano and Daiwa..
  19. Uh, hmm, hasn't for me, not at all... Not in years, not ever...
  20. I think the contribution from many sources is always very interesting. People add information from all parts of the country and that's a good thing... A young person can take what may apply to his fishing waters and file the rest away...
  21. I'm not surprised at all, which is why I suggested contacting Daiwa to begin with... Now that you have the info from the guys you should have zero issues with parts acquisition from Daiwa.. That's a fine reel and I'm pretty sure when you get it right, you will love it... Best Wishes...
  22. Do you have a link to this new model buzz? Or care to elaborate here? I haven't heard anything, just curious...
  23. Nice score on the citica e's...
  24. I would assume they are a custom build, therefore I would ask more information about the blanks used as well as other components. Seems kistler did a few rods back in like 2003...
