  1. Girlfriend says the project can’t proceed until we get rid of these concrete bases from when we took the pool deck down. So I’ve been chipping away at them for 2 hours now with a demo hammer. Right in the middle of where we are planting clover and creeping thyme.

  3. Has nothing to do with distance. Spots meant for trucks with trailers are longer. Regular parking spots can’t fit a truck with a trailer, which is why there are longer spots reserved for vehicles with trailers.
  4. I’m going with the level changes, kind of like water temperature. Fishing is more predictable when the water level and temperature are more stable, regardless of high or low, where fishing can usually get more unpredictable with rapid rises or falls in water level or temperature, so it seems like it affects them more. Just my experience anyway.
  5. Sasha sounds like quite the outdoorsy dog. Good luck with finding her new home. She’s obviously in excellent hands until then! Doing some real good, important work A-Jay. I think you are responsible for many a happy dog.
  6. Man it’s hard to pick, but most days I would say topwater. A popper is one of my most successful baits year in and year out, and was champion for 4 years running. Seeing a popper get crushed over a weed flat or rock pile will never get old. Both smallmouth and largemouth willingly take surface lures in these parts. Close second has to be a spinnerbait. Slowly reeling, feeling that steady thump then all of the sudden it just gets crushed and the fish sets the hook on you. Heart is pumping just thinking about it. Honorable mention goes to jig fishing, when you feel that absolute no-doubter of a bite, where you can really wind up that hookset and stick em good!
  7. Same exact thing seems to be goin on here. Nice catching!
  8. This for me as well. Can damper an outing for sure. Some other aspects I don’t care for jet skiers and other obnoxious pleasure-crafters, as well as people who think the boat ramp is just a concrete beach and not a spot for people to, ya know, launch their boats. Seeing litter on my pristine mountain lakes can really make me see red as also.
  9. I don’t think it’s a kayak tournament specific thing. I think a wacky senko is just a go to thing in all bass fishing circles.
  10. I’ll be giving the schroon river a shot today, hopefully to get on some trout. Gonna do a little pond fishing as well for bass.
  11. @king fisher dude….you’re really living up to your username. Well done!
  12. Once I know spawning is wrapped up for the most part, I fish deeper water, outside weed lines and drop offs on points, edges of coves, or other sharp contour lines.
  13. I’ve seen “pounds of game fish per acre” as a measure of the health of a fishery before. And biodiversity is usually a symptom of a healthy ecosystem, and inversely a healthy ecosystem is often a symptom of biodiversity. So I would think the more diverse the fish species, the healthier the waters.
  14. Every time I tell my self im just gonna browse this thread, that’s it. But 5 minutes later I’m typing my card info somewhere.
  15. My sunscreen is in the form of UV/protective clothing from head to toe when on the boat.
  16. Have a couple lakes around me with in 15 minutes. My favorite lake is about 45 minutes away. I have a few spots 1.5-2 hours away that I hit a few times a year.
  17. I practice pitching from the stairs on my deck in the yard. I scatter pavers on the lawn, stand on the second step, and try to pitch to land on the pavers.
  18. These have to be the coolest looking micropterus. Nice fish.
  19. Zoom all day for lizards.
  20. That’s cool. I’ll give them a shot. I’m a fan of Rapala stuff so I don’t see why their soft plastics wouldn’t be good. Not much room in my lineup for soft plastics that aren’t Rage Tail, Yamamoto or Z Man though.
  21. Topwater stick. The short length will make it easy to work topwaters with a downward motion of the rod without slapping the water.
  22. @TnRiver46 the most surprising part for me is that you even had a spinnerbait tied on lol
  23. And they released it. So this thing is gonna go back to gorging itself on 100 Kokanee per day and get even bigger. I’d love to know how thick the Kokanee are stacked for this trout to be able to stuff itself like that.
  24. Wow! Not even full of eggs, but stuffed full of sockeye salmon. How does this thing even swim to catch its prey? What an insane catch. True monster.
