  1. I buy from TW. Make sure to get some KVD line and lure for it. Spray it on the night before and you're good to go the next day. This line has very high breaking strength. I wrapped a tree branch around my line when I got hung up like I do with braid, and pulled my lure free.
  2. Is it ok to be off a little bit? Yeah, but its a lot better to hit your target. Practice casting with your wrist for better accuracy
  3. I like Lew's Reels but I'm not a big fan of the paddle handles. Love my Tourney Pro though
  4. Spool it on tight, and spray it with KVD line and lure and let it sit overnight,
  5. A medium fast rod for weightless plastics, but if you can throw those on spinning then a heavy power rod for frogs, swimbaits, bigger jigs Edit: To answer your question about spooks, I can walk one with a glass MH moderate fast rod, but I find it easier to do with a fast tipped rod.
  6. Whenever I break off, its usually because my line is frayed somewhere. I would only retie the lure on if your line gets frayed. As for the alberto knot, which I also use, I won't retie it as long as the line isn't frayed or I have enough leader to use. edit: When your lure flew off with braid what knot did you use and how big of a tag did you leave?
  7. I'm sure he can throw them with the right equipment.
  8. I have the old black and red one with the EVA split grip. I like mine alot, and I use it to throw squarebills and ocassionally a rattle trap. No problems with mine, and I've had it for a couple months now. I'm sure the new model is good too. Powell always makes quality rods.
  9. 1/4 oz jig for skippin docks
  10. The first one I got was probably a spiderman combo lol. The one I bought was a Spiderwire spinning rod that was 30 bucks with a random spinning reel. Baits I liked to use were Beetle Spins but with Powerbait grubs
  11. Which one would be better for 1.5 and 2.5 sized squarebills? Or would there be no difference in performance at all?
  12. Check out the Tournament Pros, you can find them for $150.
  13. I like split grips, but I wouldn't mind owning a full gripped one.
  14. Most people won't shell out a ton of money on a fishing combo because they're just weekend warriors. Different story for us...
  15. ABW replied to Tristan's topic in Fishing Tackle
Fairly new to fishing with a PB of 9-10 lbs??? Wow. Always use a plastic trailer with bass jigs. You can still catch fish with out them though, but I have more confidence in the bait with one on.
  16. Awesome rods, I had a 683CEF and it was great for light jigs.
  17. I don't think its possible to fish with only one lure, but I'll go with a jig.
  18. Get yourself a Medium or Medium Light rod and you're all set!
  19. It does the same for me aswell. Escape from reality.
  20. Same thing happened here, had luck fishing chartreuse tipped rodent lures by the banks. The fish always seem to hug the banks where I fish.
  21. I always fish jigs on braid with a fluoro leader. No problems here
