Dang that was a sweet deal. They know how much they paid for it, and it was ok for her to sell it for 75, but you gave them 100. I don't see any problem here.- Why Dosen't Bass Pro Carry New Companies
I must be lucky because I've never received a bad rod (knock on wood)- Jig Rod Length
You will love that rod. Powell makes very good stuff- Tw Order Arrived
My Siebert jigs come Friday.- Inexpensive Crankbait That Is Awesome!
I haven't used all of the ones I bought, but I really like the Smelt one, which is the one I posted previously, Blue chartreuse, and Shellcracker- Jig Rod Length
I wouldn't say that the Old Max is a true MH. It's in between a M and MH. If you do get the 723, you can use other things than finesse jigs because it's one of the most versatile models Powell makes.- Inexpensive Crankbait That Is Awesome!
Nope. They come with VMC's and they're actually pretty sharp so I leave them. I took them off because they had rust on them from being in the water for 2 weeks- Inexpensive Crankbait That Is Awesome!
They are pretty darn good. This is one that I lost in the water before, and two weeks later I found it washed up against a bank. Just have to add some split rings and trebles.- Jig Rod Length
I have the Powell Max 683, and it feels best with 1/4 oz jigs with trailers. Quarter oz jigs with trailers = about 3/8 oz. I tried throwing 3/8 oz jigs before and the rod felt a bit overloaded. The 723 should be able to handle 3/8 oz + trailers no problem, as long as you're using jigs that don't have super heavy gauge hooks. If you're using finesse jigs, it should work awesome. Edit: This is what I would throw 99 percent of the time on the Max if I was using a jig. 1/4 oz jig made for skipping docks.- Inexpensive Crankbait That Is Awesome!
The CRS crankbaits that Academy makes are very good too. I got a bunch when they were on sale for 2.99- Fluro And Knots

Hope you make a quick recovery!! And please tell me you went to Jasper....- Tw Order Arrived
That happened to me before with Academy. Bought some crankbaits and they came in 4 separate packages. 2 of them were shipped by themselves in boxes lol- Your Most Versatile Rod?
6'8" MH Powell. Thrown shakeyheads, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, light jigs, texas rigs, lipless cranks, small frogs, light buzzbaits, the list goes on and on- Tw Order Arrived
Seems that all shipping companies can be pretty careless at times.... That was me that tore part of the sticker off, but the hole was there when I got my package. Luckily I had everything in the box. On the other hand, I already rigged up some jigs that look good enough to eat myself. Can't wait until next spring. Worm - Trick Worm Creature Bait - Pit Boss (I didn't go with a brush hog because I never catch anything on them) Jerk Bait - I assume you mean soft jerkbait - Super fluke Spinner Bait - Don't use much of these anymore, but I did use Booyahs Crankbait - KVD 1.5 Lipless Crank - Lucky Craft LV RTO 150 size Popper - Don't use Walker - Sexy Dawg- Powell Diesel
I have 1/4 of the models. I have the old EVA gripped crankbait rod, which is a 7 ft MH Mod-Fast glass rod. It's a great rod for anything with trebles, and even spinnerbaits. Only complaint is the reel seat, it does feel sort of cheap, but thats what you get with a 50 dollar rod.- Choosing Right Rod
For frogs, I like a longer rod to bomb them, and it also helps with hook sets. But like the others said, it should work. As long as the cover isn't too thick for the frogs.- Taking Swimjig Out Of My Arsenal
