It's just a preference of mine. Since there really isn't much plastic to go through, the EWG isn't really needed.

I don't like using EWG for thin plastics, I feel that the hook gets in the way sometimes and takes away from the action.

I would try using straight fluoro, because I don't like braid with an XF tip

Just another tip, with Texas rigs I will go with the lowest possible bullet weight I can get away with.

Pretty much everything. But I do have some cheap Academy crankbaits made in China that take some beatings and still hold up

For Pit Bosses I only use EWG. 3" get 3/0 4" get 4/0 7" worms 2/0 or 3/0 offset.

Only 16 so I don't need a license yet here in Indiana. The public pond where I fish at never gets checked, unfortunately.

Welcome to the forums. Do you think you allowed the fish time to get ahold of the bait? Usually with Texas rigs I'll wait a second or two until I set the hook

I would get a stiffer rod for jig fishing. Something like a MH or H, depending on lure weights. Plus I would opt for a longer rod... 6'6"-7'6". If you're using finesse jigs with light wire hooks around the 1/4 oz range then I guess it would be ok.

Yes, I really like the Dirty Jigs California Swim jigs. Some of the best paint jobs around. Revenge is pretty good too, but pricey.

Its 5.75 flat rate. Theres a 15 percent sale too. You can buy his jigs wire tied and they would still be cheaper than a lot of others

Buzzbaits - I always loose these, and only caught one fish on them this season. Lost the one when I was digging out a backlash, the bait got stuck in submerged timber. Then I lost a Cavitron to a freaking goose at night... Jerkbaits - I used to always use these and catch tons of fish on them when I was younger on spinning gear, now I can't catch anything on them

I fish the same trailers, but a lot slower. Each cast may take 3-5 minutes.
