I used to fish only spinning gear too. I always thought I'd never learn to use a baitcaster. I was wrong... and I'm kind of mad at myself for not starting earlier..

Around here, a lot of the Amish have that kind of mindset. Probably because of their culture and beliefs.

If you want to run straight braid you still can. Just take a sharpie and color your desired length black. Hi-vis braid is great if you're a line watcher

You can also get a BPS PQ for around that price during the spring sale. I personally don't own one, but many on here swear by it.

Use whatever feels comfortable to you. I am cross dominant. I write and eat with my left hand, and do everything else with my right. I use left handed spinning reels and right handed baitcasters. I'd probably be able to adjust to a left handed baitcaster if needed.

If I were you I'd save up on money and make a yearly purchase from TW on Black Friday, with some small purchases of essentials here and there.

I cast both because I fish from the bank. There isn't any cover for me to flip to, and if there is cover I'll have to pitch to it.

All Terrain Skip N Jig like the above poster. I've been using this jig for a while now, and it is very good at skipping. Also, you can fish it like a regular jig too.

I'd also learn how to take out a gut hook too, if you don't know how.
