  1. I asked Mike what color and size was best for my area and he helped me out.
  2. I'm not sure but it seems that an inline buzzbait is similar to a bucktail lure for muskies? If that's the case what are the benefits of an inline buzzbait or a standard buzzbait over each other? I was reading the ad for an inline buzzbait and it says planes quicker, more durable, and is more weedless then a standard buzzbait. If that's true, why don't more people use inline buzzbaits? What are the pros and cons of an inline buzzbait and standard buzzbait?
  3. Hmmm.....may have to try this one.
  4. Can I just get a cap or do I need to get a new O-ring, dipstick, and nut too? I wonder if I can just get the cap and O-ring and transfer all the old stuff to the new cap and O-ring.
  5. Will a new oil cap solve the leaking problem or is this model prone to having leaking oil caps?
  6. Anyone know these guys? 30 days in jail. I wish poachers got sentences like this! http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/09/18/alabama-men-to-spend-30-days-in-jail-for-cheating-in-fishing-tournament/
  7. I noticed fluid leaking from my motor and suspected it was oil. It wasn't coming from the lower unit. I discovered that when I have my motor titled almost level that oil is leaking out of the oil tank cap and down the sides of the motor. I normally don't have my motor tilted this much but do have it tilted this much when I'm parking my boat (I have a very highly angled driveway) and when I'm putting it in the water. I screwed the cap on as tight as I could and it still leaks. It's a cap where the more you turn it the more a rubber gasket expands similar to a boat plug. I was wondering if a new cap would fix the problem but I'm not sure. It's a 2000 Mercury 115 horse, 2 stroke. 1.) How can I fix this problem? 2.) What liquid is the best to clean it up? The oil is all over the inside of the motor and boat motor well. I was thinking hot water and Dawn dish soap but not sure that's the best.
  8. 1.) Tiny Fluke 2.) Fluke 3.) Super Fluke 4.) Super Fluke Jr. 5.) Magnum Super Fluke
  9. Shimano FJ's are very solid and dependable reels. I've had one for around 10 years I think. Shimano Ci4+ are incredible reels. I have a 2500 and my next reel will be a 1000. I returned a new FJ this year to another Ci4+. If you can find them on sale I'd get the Ci4+.
  10. That's one option. I am hoping to be able to pick them up rather then pay shipping and handling though.
  11. You can probably order it online and have it shipped to your local Walmart for free.
  12. Dang. Now I'm going to have to get an Ima Skimmer!
  13. So I bought these Gamakatsu Weedless hooks with wireguard and couldn't for the life of me get the 30lbs. Power Pro braid threaded through. I then tried the smallest KVD Mustad Fastach clip which is metal thinking I would push it through. That wouldn't go either. I don't think any diameter line would go through it. How the heck are you supposed to attach these to your line?
  14. So I have some perfectly good spinnerbaits and buzzbaits that are missing their skirts. I don't want to add a minnow bait, I simply want to get a good replacement skirt for them. Once I opened a brand new Terminator spinnerbait and the skirt was laying in the package broken off. My friend tossed his brand new Cavitron buzzbait out and on the first cast lost the skirt. He laughed and said they must be poor quality. After a weekend of killing the fish with them his opinion was changed, Cavitrons are awesome despite the initial problem. So, what's a good replacement skirt for these buzzbaits and spinnerbaits? I would really like it if I could pick them up somewhere like Cabelas or Gander Mountain rather then order them from someplace and pay shipping and handling.
  15. Well, I'll have to wait for the next TW sale but after reading some posts on here there are some lures that I want to try out. 1.) Ima Roumba 2.) Ima Skimmer 3.) Zoom Super Hogs What new lures that you've never had before do you want to try next year? Also, if you happen to have experience with the above lures or any other lures that other people want to try can you post your experience with them and what colors you tried and thought were the most successful?
  16. Didn't Bobby Uhlrig say he always uses a trailer hook on his Cavitrons?
  17. KVD Sexy Dawg which is basically a Spook. Love it. However, with weeds present I am liking my Arashi Wake crank too.
  18. So I ordered a Shimano Stradic 2500 FJ and Ci4+ this year. I loved the Ci4+ so much that I returned the FJ and hope to buy a Ci4+ when I can get one on sale again. I have a Cabelas Tournament ZX dropshot spinning rod medium power 6-12# line that it will go on. This rod feels air light with the 2500 and I assume it'd feel even lighter with the 1000 size. I will be using this for bass. I know it will have less line, but I've never had a problem with bass stripping off too much line like a salmon. I like the 2500 size but was wondering if I could move down to a 1000 size. Would that work ok with this set up?
  19. That doesn't sound good. I have a Rapala Waking Minnow and Biovex Wake Bait and I like the Arashi best. I tried it with my Revo Rocket with 9:0:1 and it wouldn't run right even when going slow. Switched to a Revo SX in 6:4:1 (I think) and reeled slowly and it ran perfectly. Caught 2 fish and missed 2 others on the 2nd outing. What ratio is the reel you're using?
  20. We've had great success with Cavitron buzzbaits this year onour annual fishing trip. We immediately put Gamakatsu trailer hooks on them and they definitely helped. Well, I got back home and 2 Cavitrons that I ordered for the trip had arrived while I was on the trip (go figure). I didn't have trailer hooks for them. So I was fishing the other day and had 2 fish blow up but miss the Cavitrons. So I grabbed one of my older Cavitrons that had a trailer hook on it already. I cast it and immediately noticed that it didn't run like the other one did. It didn't seem to run as well. I'm wondering if it had taken a beating from fish and needed to be bent back or if the trailer hook was slowing it down or effecting it's action. Do you add trailer/stinger hooks to your buzzbaits? Are there any lures that you automatically add a trailer/stinger hook too, or do you put them on and take them off as sitation dictates?
