Favorite Wake Bait ?
Yeah. What's the problems with the DTs?

Favorite Wake Bait ?
Have you ever tried the Rapala Waking Minnow?

Why Is This Happening?
Exact same rods. Both reel's bails closed manually. One has a Shimana Stradic Ci4+ and the other has an older Shimano Stradic FJ.

Why Is This Happening?
It rarely happens win my other spinning rod which has Power Pro and that my bro is fishing at the same time I am. So the weather conditions are the exact same.

Favorite Wake Bait ?
I have a Biovex Wake bait that doesn't seem to run right. I ordered a Arashi Wake and Rapala Waking minnow. So hopefully one of these will be better. Certainly could have worked today.

Two Odd Bass Pitching Questions?
Thanks. I saw one guy in a video pitching his jig under docks and they were skipping like 10 feet under. How do you do that?

Why Is This Happening?
I usually use Power Pro 15lbs. braid on my spinning reels. I tried Sufix 832 20lbs. braid this time on one of my reels. I've never had problems with the Power Pro and haven't had any problems with it on my current reel that I respooled this year the same time I spooled the Sufix on my other reel. Well, the Sufix 832 seems to get wrapped up around the 1/4 top tip of my rod quite often. I don't know why. What's going on here?

Butt Casting Seats?
This is the one I got from Cabelas. It usually goes on sale for $39. It's usually $54. I love it. Won't have a boat without this seat. I like it because I can sit on it no matter which way it is facing and it's comfortable being sat on any way. That would be a problem if you had one of the ones that had a V-shape to it.

Two Odd Bass Pitching Questions?
So I'm trying to get away from using a Senko so much under docks and attempting to broaden my repertoire and get better at pitching a lure under docks. Currently I'm using a 1/4 oz. Sieberts Swim Jig and Ragetail Menace trailer. I'm having some problems. I have turned my hand to the side so I can get more articulation out of my wrist. I can't seem to get it to go very far, like 6 feet. My jig seems to land right in front of the dock but I can't get it to skip under docks or go way under them. I have 2 questions: 1.) Is my rod too long? I'm using a 6'6" Gander Mountain Vortex rod with an Abu Garcia SX with the brake in the middle and the spool tension really loose. I'm 5'3" tall. I was wondering if I should be using a 6" rod. 2.) When the lure hits, what do you do? Watching videos on how to pitch I see guys have their lures land and then they strip line off and give the line slack. Letting it sink I on a slack line Iassume. They then retrieve the jig. Should I be doing that? I'm mostly fishing in shallow water, like 1-2" feet. Should I be reeling it in almost as soon as I think it's hit bottom? I'm wondering if I'm missing fish by letting it sit on the bottom and stripping line off.

Congrats! What hook was it?

Storm Arashi Wakebait
lol. Two nights ago I ordered a Rapala Waking Minnow and Arashi Wake from Dicks. Can't wait to get them. On another note, I tried my Arashi squarebill and caught 5 big bass and it held up great so far.

Why Are Some Years Better For Certain Types Of Baits And Presentations?
We've had great success with topwaters this year. Everything from frogs, buzzbaits, spook style, and popper style. I know that Bobby Uhrig stated he's had his best year with his Cavitrons buzzbaits this year. I don't know if we are using more topwaters this year or of we are just more successful with them. I don't know if we will have this kind of success with topwater next year. This years weather might have been the perfect storm for topwater success. Why are some years better for certain types of baits and presentations?

Rage (Products/rigs/techs/colors)?
Love the Ragetail Toad in green pumpkin. Find it if the fish want them to sink and get bitten or retrieved right away. I've tried the Zoom Horny Toad and only got one strike. I have no confidence in it. I've caught a ton if fish in the Ragetail Toad. I did ok with the Ragetail Bug weightless T-Rigge the other day

Shallow Fishing <2' Of Water
How would a drop shot not get all algaed up? I'd try a Ragetail Toad in that shallow of water. That's what I use and have success with.

Just How Many
I like to keep bass to eat. I keep them in the 1lbs-2lbs range. I usually keep bass 1 out of every 4 outings and usually get out 1 or twice a week. If I catch less then 3 keepers, I let them go. I usually only keep 3-5 because I dont' want to fillet 2 fish. Our limit here is 5. I love catching and keeping fish because I love eating them.

Why Would Someone Use A Mouse Bait Again?
Twice in my life we've caught mice live in regular snap traps. Let them go in the lake at the dock and both got eaten almost immediately after swimming around for about 4 seconds. One was by a big pike and the other was a big smallmouth.

Anyone Here Use 360' Imaging Fish Locators?
That's what I meant, this thing: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/Marine-Electronics/Sonars-SonarGPS-Combos|/pc/104794380/c/104707080/sc/104588280/Humminbird174-360-Imaging8482/1345278.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fsonars-sonar-gps-combos%2Fhumminbird%2F_%2FN-1100517%2B1000003678%2FNe-1000003678%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104588280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BBRprd735123%253Bcat104707080%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BBRprd735123%3Bcat104707080%3Bcat104588280 Humminbird® 360 Imaging™ 360 Imaging rotates and scans areas virtually impossible to touch with other types of sonar Creates a 300-ft. circle of detection around your boat Four beam speeds and adjustable 10°-360° sweep areas Split-screen views with SwitchFire or GPS cartography Near-silent Transducer Deployment System Revolutionary 360 Imaging scans underwater places that are virtually impossible to see with conventional sonar. It produces a 150-ft. beam that sweeps in every direction to create a 300-ft. circle of detection around your boat, letting you see fish all around you without moving over them (1.6 acres of total coverage). The imaging beam sweeps the surrounding water and detects fish, underwater structure, rocks, terrain changes and more – helping you target fish hideouts with surgical precision that would remain hidden to other sonar devices. Four beam speeds and adjustable 10°-360° sweep areas let you fine tune the system and isolate specific areas for maximum detail or faster returns. The lower beam speeds scan slower and more thoroughly to produce better-quality images, while the higher beam speeds deliver faster refresh rates. The adjustable sweep area lets you adjust the beam sweep between 10°-360° in any direction, or choose one of four preset sweep settings that scan fore, aft, port or starboard with a 180° arc. Mark important returns with a waypoint and keep track of productive fishing spots with the GPS on your Humminbird unit (select units only). Split-screen views also let you see 360° imaging with SwitchFire™ sonar or GPS cartography. Adjustable beam sensitivity for adapting to varying water conditions. Choose from eight color palettes for easy viewing. Adjustable image sharpness for clearer resolution in different light conditions. The 360 Imaging Transducer Deployment System silently lowers the transducer below the hull and prop for unobstructed views at every angle. The transducer can be deployed with easy-to-use buttons on the Transducer Deployment System housing or by using the controls on your Humminbird fish-finder unit – and it’s adjustable to prevent grounding andallows you to fish shallower depths. Requires an Ethernet-ready, Side Imaging®-equipped Humminbird fish finder (not included). Older side-imaging units will need a software update. Top Water Bite Is Coming !
The topwater bite has been fairly good here all year long. I will continue using my KVD Sexy Dog, KVD Splash, and Cavitron Buzzbaits. I do want to try to catch some on my new Bionx Wake Bait and Livetarget jerkbait though.

Anyone Here Use 360' Imaging Fish Locators?
I was watching a fishing show and saw that the guy had what appeared to be 3 Power Poles. On closer inspection he had 2 Power Poles and something that appeared to be a vertical rod. I researched it and discovered that it is Hummingbird's 360's transducer pole that works with the 360' Hummingbird fish locator. It seems very intriguing and the idea sounds plausible. Does anyone here have a Hummingbird 360' fish locator or similar and is it worth it?

I've Been Doing It All Wrong With My Centrifugal Brake System On My Baitcasting Reels!
So, I've been fishing with a Plueger Patriarch for about 6 years and I picked up a new Abu Garcia Revo SX last year and two Abu Garcia Revo Rockets this year. The Revo SX doesn't have adjustable centrifugal brakes, but the Patriarch and Rockets do. So, I haven't been happy with my casting lately and I thought I had the Rockets set right. I opened them up today while fishing and I had all of the brake pins out except 2. So I pushed them all in and left one pin out. I had a KVD Sexy Dawg tied on. I was casting about 10-15 yards I'm guessing. After I changed the brakes I casted a country mile! I must have been casting 25-35 yards. I couldn't believe it. What a difference. So I guess with the Rockets, pins in is brakes off and pins out is on. I had that mixed up. I wonder if it's the same with my Patriarch. I haven't checked it yet. So, for all baitcasting reels is it this way for their centrifugal brakes: Pins in = Off Pins out = On ?
