Once you get it secure, make sure you take your time re-spooling. After its re-spooled, tie a heavy weight the end and then, if you have the room, let you line out (not in a pile, but walk backwards). once almost all of the line is out, reel it in slowly with tension and make sure it goes on the spool evenly.

This might be part of your answer. Perhaps the fish are beginning to get "used to you." It may be time to throw them, and yourself, a curveball. Give other lures a shot. Give the fish a different presentation. Maybe you're just in a dry spell and it might be time to fish new water or take a little time off. Fish for a different spiecies even.

Don't let them jump! Check your hook points for sharpness, double check drag, good hooksets.

I could be reading more into this than intended, but it appears to me that the primary issue that you are having is the conduct of the boats (speed, wake, operation) more so that the tourney. Why not say something to the people issuing the permits? As for management of the lake, are you refering to the managment of the fish or the actual operation of the lake?

Yes, I think saying something is appropriate. I have "run people off" at a place I fish. You need a permisson slip/wiaver to fish there. It is free and application takes all of three minutes. Yet people don't take the time to do it. It really hit home when I found a piece of plastic rigged up to be a stringer that was full of small fish that were left behind and tied to a tree. The place is C/R only. To top it off, it was in the area that the illegals sneak on to fish with their handline and bleach bottle. I cut the "stringer" and freed the fish. Hopefully they survived. They seemed to swim away fine. As for disapperaing all I can say is: You got purty teeth.

I prefer braid. However, I think each line has its place for various applications.

Review your diet. Sometimes when weight loss is going well we have a tendency to let the "bad (ie good tasting) food" creep back in. You could even keep a log of your diet for a week or two. I agree with the change in your exercise routine suggestion. Often times the body will hit a plateau. Cardio first thing in the moring, before you eat anything. A cup of coffee would be good about 20 minutes prior. Caffine can help increase the fat loss. You could also increase cardio to twice a day (if you have the time). Drink more water. If you are lifting weights, do cardio before your weight workout. When lifting keep things at a high intensity. Also keep in mind, if you are lifting (depending on how much) you may be losing fat, but adding muscle, which will in turn burn more fat. Above all, don't get frustrated and give up! Good job

Please let me be clear on my original post, I was just checking on the status of the situation. I am certainly NOT attempting to restart the "contest" or give away all of Megastrike's product. I would hate to see this go a direction where Megastrike gets bombarded with people looking for freebies that did not participate in the original contest. Apparently the medical staff induced a mild form of hypothermia shortly after the injury and continued this to/thru his surgery. Kind of ironic, I am pretty sure I read an article about doctors inducing hypothermia as part of medical treatment a month or two back.

Last I had heard, he wasn't even in the clear to live. It reminded me of the Mike Utley incident many years ago. Sad to see. Hopefully he beats the odds and is one day able to use his limbs again.

I was working in a juvenile Secure Treatment facility, 7-3 shift. I has just gotten done dealing with a kid and then someone said they heard somehting had happened on the radio. Like most of the early reports, it didn't make sense. As news continued to come in, we (the supervisors) grabbed one of the TVs and hooked up the cable. We watched what was happening on TV, like I imagine many other did. It was tough to tear myself away to check on the kids. On my way home I grabbed some cold beverages and was glued to the TV the rest of the night. I had a lock on tree stand on a tree in front of the house set up a couple feet off the ground as an extra place to sit. It was weird looking up in the sky and not seeing the blinking lights of airplaines that are taken for granted. I still get a feeling in my gut on this day.
