  1. Hey Muddy, wanna fight? Bet my Marlins could knock your Mets out of the running! I really can't find anything bad to say about the site, it's run smoothly, good administration. A+ to Bassresource.com!
  2. Here's the team right here!
  3. Very interesting, glad to see this prehistoric fish making a comeback here on the eastern coast. They're reintroducing them here in West Virginia, and hopefully it will be a big success.
  4. If Avid tells you to use the crankbait, use something else, he's playing a trick on you and the lure's probably rigged to explode ;D
  5. Thanks, I had luck with a wacky rigged senko, but lately, that hasn't been cutting it, so I've been using a variety of baits. I used an imitation hellgrammite last night, and it worked killer.
  6. Had a pretty good evening last night at the local bass pond. Caught 7 bass, the biggest being about 1 and 1/2 lbs, so small fish, but still had a good time and caught several. I saw several that would have probably topped the 4-5 lb mark! They wouldn't hit anything though.
  7. Well, here's mine for comparison.
  8. You forgot the banjo lure!!! ;D
  9. USC has been overhyped, and yes, there should be a playoff system. If only our opinions mattered ;D
  10. Andy Griffith Show & Sanford and Son!
  11. What happened to the Trojans? Stanford beat them? At home? USC predicted to win by 38? Let the smack talking begin! 8-)
  12. Absolutely spectacular! 8-)
  13. Well, at one time, it was owned by Hurricane, however, after the section of the dam had been removed, it was sold to the man who has it now. He bought it because he didn't want to see all of the lake removed.
  14. Alright guys, I think you may have heard this story before, but I wanted to give an updated version of this and ask for some help. I currently fish an area called Lake Washington. This was once a thriving lake which boasted a great warmwater fishery, as well as outstanding scenery. About 7-8 years ago, a 5 foot section of the dam had to be removed due to possible collapse and damage to the dam, causing the lake level to drastically drop. The city of Hurricane (where the lake is located) was faced with a decision to repair the dam, or to not fix it and let the vast bulk of it dry up. They did the latter, and now, what was once a beautiful lake is now just a small backwater area. I have been studying this matter, and I am interested in trying to restore this lake back to what it once was. I was going to get your opinion on this. Would it cost a lot of money to restore? I know that many areas where the lake once was are now dried up and there are small trees and brush growing on it, so of course that would need to be dug out. I think the dam would need repair as well, and the 5 foot section added back on. I have pictures that I took while I recently went out there the other day. A section of the lake. As mentioned, this used to be much larger. Above the dam. There was once a wooden section that went all the way across. Me showing a comparison of how big the dam is. What do you guys think? Is this a cause worth going after, or is it just a waste of time? I have been in full cooperation with the owner of the dam and the lake area, and he has encouraged me by saying he would do whatever he could to help restore the lake, whether it be opening it up to the public, or whatever. I think a key problem would be getting the funding. I would have to work with the city on that. Thanks for your advice, TF
  15. http://www.resize2mail.com That's the best resizing site there is, hands down!
  16. No problem guys, enjoy it. It can also be used for other species of fish as well.
  17. For those taking advantage of any fall trout stockings in a few weeks, or for those with leftover trout still in the freezer, here's a way to fix them up. [move]Troutfisher's Trout Recipe[/move] 3-4 Trout Fillets Flour Seasoning of Choice Peanut Oil Fillet trout fillets by cleaning out the insides and thoroughly washing the inside with water. Remove head and tail and all other fins. Do not remove any bones. After the fillets are cleaned, mix seasoning with flour and pat all over the trout, including on the inside of the fillet. Cook fillets in a pan with the peanut oil for about 5-7 minutes, and remove. Serve with ketchup. I absolutely love this recipe. The best thing is, after the fillet is cooked, you can take the backbone and it will peel all of the bones out extremely easily. You can scrape any remaining meat off the bones. This utilizes all of the meat and doesn't waste any. Thanks!
  18. My grandpa shared this one with me...soft shelled crawdads rigged in the tails. They can't be beat!
  19. Thanks guys, and will do, LBH!
  20. Thanks guys! I use that FLW waistpack all the time, I love it!
  21. I hit a small public catch and release pond this evening to break in a new rod and reel combo I recently purchased, a quantum reel and nice cork rod. Well, needless to say, the results speak for themselves, I caught 6 bass within 50 minutes, a few on small white wacky rigged senkos as well as some caught on green "slider" grubs and small imitation hellgrammites. While the fish I caught were of no large size, I saw at least 3 I can think of that would have topped 4 lbs! They looked like cruising logs in the water. However, I couldn't get them to hit anything. Here are some pics of the evening. My largest bass of the evening. Some smaller bass. Hopefully with the gradual drop in temperature, I should be able to hook into some of those pigs lurking in the pond within the next few weeks! Any comments appreciated. Thanks! -Troutfisher
  22. I'm suprised Muddy hasn't chimed in on this one!

TAKE GROSSMAN OUT, PUT GRIESE IN! I'VE BEEN SAYING IT FOREVER! :
  24. Wanted to share a helpful fishing tip with you guys I picked up in Bassmaster magazine a few years back, I've been using it and thought you might like to hear it, maybe you already use it. After you get back from fishing, and can't get that fish smell off of your hands, use some toothpaste on your hands after you wash them. This kills any fishy smell and leaves your hands smelling fresh. Thought I'd share.
