Heavy flipping hook vs Offset shank hook
I pair it more with my set up. Straight shank flipping hook with a heavy or x heavy flipping rod and 50# braid. Heavy wire ewg on 15-20# fluorocarbon for t rigs and such on a medium heavy. Light wire ewg for 12# and under on a medium to medium light rod. I've always looked at the amount of force it's going to take to dig in the hook factoring in my rods backbone. The above has never failed me.

Great fish. You have to cull 1000 15-20" fish per year? Man that seems like a lot of your big spawn fish.

Nice!- Jerkbaits setting the hook
I use 10# fluorocarbon on my jerkbait set up. Never really set the hook. Always just sweep into it, most of the time it's no more aggressive of an action than I already use for the action to work it. I do the same for crankbaits... really most treble hook baits.- Great first day on the water
Not that I have any experience *cough cough* but that sure does look like a C&C Custom bladed jig! Congrats on the fish!- Spots of a different nature

My two favorite after the pro blue is MSS and Kohoku Reaction- Catch & Release
I'll keep and eat crappie, wipers, walleye and flathead. I've eaten bass before and have no issue with them. Around me the length limit makes them money fish in tournaments... meaning it could be $100-$500 fish... that's a lot of big macs if ya get what I'm saying. GJM - Good Times at the Beach ~
