  1. So I was putzing around Dicks today, and saw a stockboy stocking a whole big box of new YUM brand soft plastic baits. Now I wasnt really able to get a completely thorough look at these products...cause, well, I want to let the kid do his job...But my first impression so far has been....fairly unimpressed. Now maybe my opinion will change for the better in the coming months...but right now, I didnt see too much to get excited about. But thats just me.
  2. Ok Im gonna be the odd man out here and say its not really worth it. But then again, youre in Florida, fish get bigger in Florida, and youre at a canal. That ought to be fairly productive. Me personally though, (as someone here once said) Im not really a fan of the prospect of hauling up a 2lb dink along with 4lbs of vegetation. Nor am I a fan of the albeit, rare prospect, of catching that trophy fish and having it wrap my line every which way but loose around the cabbages, and becoming stuck and trapped in there. When youre in a boat, retrieving a stuck fish becomes much more doable, than it is when trying it from the bank. But thats just me.
  3. Be it as it may...most smaller/local tournaments are not held only on great bass lakes.
  4. and Tournament fisherman try to deposit their casts, into the bank.
  5. Well...all I can say is, Ive worked a Pad Crasher, and a Poppin Pad Crasher, just fine using 10lb mono. Im sure braid would be better, but mono has been satisfactory. Jut sayin.
  6. Title shouldve read "Lures" not skirts.
  7. Just a quick question... Does anyone know if the smell of sharpie ink on a lure can at times, be a fish deterrent?

Ok, Im having a thought.... If you have a skirt-making tool handy.....suppose while youre making a skirt, you slip the head of a 6 inch lizard into your skirt making tool, and then pop the skirt on around the lizard's neck (maybe with a small o-ring rather than a skirt band). Then suppose you trim the strands quite a bit shorter, so as to give the illusion that the lizard has gills.... Hmmmm....
  9. Thats my go to.
  10. ooohh..I think I found it.
  11. Im really liking these patterns.....just sayin. To those of you who use these, where do you prefer to order them? Im looking for the website that would have the most complete selection of colors available to choose from.

Stitch it. T-rigged weightless or with a split shot.
  14. A white $1 Walmart buzzbait with a 5" curly grub. Fish was a very chunky 21"
  15. Id go with 6.5mm Grendel.
  16. Here you go - This thing
  17. Nope, Im not. The bait is called the "Creature Craw."
  18. I like to buy those little spinners separately and attach them to other baits, just to add a little extra to em. I once caught a fish by connecting a beetle spinner to a swim jig.
  19. Picked up a pack of these just for kicks, and maaaaannnnn, let me tell you what. These things are a hoot. Theyre definitely bigger than what I imagined. Swimming it through the water, this is the funniest looking bait Ive tied on so far. It almost literally swims like a penguin. Not sure if I'll catch anything with it, but I can see I'll be having some fun just working it along. But Culprit's packaging leaves much to be desired, and looks like I'll be doing a lot of boiling this year.
  20. Its just me, but I dont consider any spinning bait to be particularly weedless. Sure it may not snag with the hook as often, but if/when the weeds get wrapped up in the spinner, it can still cause it stop functioning.
  21. What color of Flash are you using? Just out of curiosity
  22. *** Bento Minnows Huddlebug 3d Reaction Craw Basstrix jerkbait
  23. 3/0 EWG Hook 3/0 Straight shank off-set hook 1/0 EWG Hook 1/0 Straight Shank off-set hook Depending on what type of bait youre using.
