Spinning reel for x-mas
Personally I love my pflueger president and unlike yours my reel spins forever. It has never let my down, and i have caught a 7 pounder on it. But I have also used my friends symetre and was thinking about buying one to go along with my president, so I would say either one of those two.

Salaries
Lane, sorry about taking so long I havent checked this section for a while, about the AFS, I have only been in school for a few weeks now so I have not had time to join the club, but yes we can join through the school and the fisheries club at our first meeting I just didn't have the cash with me but I plan to do so next tuesday at our meeting. So to be honest with you I am not really that sure about what their guidelines state, so I don't think as of right now my opinions would be very educated. BTW what state are you in?

electrofishing
Today I along with two other students, one professor, and four biologists shocked a section of the Eno River looking for Roanoke bass. It was the first time that I had ever been electrofishing and boy was it a blast. Don't get me wrong it was hard work carrying everything up and down the trails, when I got home I jumped right in the bed and took a nap haha. We got to the river at about 9 and they ran through everything and how the machinces worked and the safety precautions and then we got started. The stretch we did was at some parts pretty rocky and shallow with tons of hydrilla, and even there we found fish it was awesome. We ended up collecting 60 roanoke bass which were measured, weighed, tagged, and had scale samples. We saw so many different kinds of fish like largemouth, bluegill, green sunfish, different kinds of catfish, chub, crawdads, fathead minnows, and probably some more that i can't remember. But anyways, the point of my story is that if any of you young guys out there are wondering what to do with your life(like me) and what you want to be when you grow up and are interested in fish, fishing, aquatic life or anything like that fisheries is deffinately a program you should look into. Im only 18 and a 1st year college student, but from what I can tell it is going to be a great field to work in and I have really enjoyed my experiences so far and im sure anyone that gets into it will too

need shallow thick veggie fishing advice
Sounds like a place i fish(except the old trash part). But what i usually use, and would use there is some kind of soft plastic frog like the stanley ribbit, a floating frog or white mouse, or a drop shot or shakey head with a floating worm like a roboworm.

need help for WINDY days...
I say you can't go wrong throwing a spinnerbait, its heavy and theres not much wind resistance so ur gunna have a pretty good cast. Lighter line probably doesn't hurt either

How much do you think this bass weighs?

- What are your top 3 bass?
7lb 4oz-white floating rat 5lb 8oz-terminator spinnerbait w/a chatterbait trailer 4lb 12oz-black grape trickworm texas rigged- Floating treasure
no, its wasnt my lure, someone else broke off i just found it idk whose it was, plus i dont have enought money to pay $15 for a lure anyhow- Floating treasure
Well here's the story.... I was flyfishing on the local lake for bluegill with a friend of mine this weekend and was catching a few here and there, well the fishing started to slow down so my friend went back to the dock. So i walked over to where he was fishing and noticed something floating in the water with ALOT of line tangled around it, i thought it was just a piece of metal floating and then i got kind of excited bc i realized it was a lure and when i picked it up i thought to myself hmm it looks kind of like a sammy and then i read the bottom lol a free $15 lure that was in very good condition. But the part i thought was the funniest was that it was in the exact spot my friend had just walked away from ;D he was HAPPY lol- Sizemic Frustration!
yea for some reason i dont have much luck on the sizemic frogs but the stanley ribbits do the trick u should try them out- Catch and Release
11 pounds is going to be one of the biggest and oldest fish in just about every body of water, except for in california lakes where they just have an endless buffet of trout. So in reality that fish, unless it was in an extremely well managed body of water wasn't going to live very much longer and in turn probably wasnt goin to get that much bigger. But anyways, my email address is taustinj@aol.com, and information on any body's of water would be great. thanks again, taylor - What are your top 3 bass?
