  1. Good one
  2. ^^^This always gets them riled up.
  3. Congrats to both you and your son.
  4. A game changer in the industry. In a few years every manufacturer will have a version of the NedWop. Skeet Reese will be the spokesman for the Original NedWop. Versions will be made in crankbait and spybait form with down imaging, structure scan and its own mini power pole for those windy days. Trust me, it will revolutionize the way we look at lures, line, barometer pressure and fish.
  5. I think we are seeing a fundamental shift in the NFL. Teams that were horrible just a few years ago have finally found coaching leadership that works, players that gel as a team and management that knows how to run a NFL franchise. The Chiefs and Rams are good examples of this. They have been putting pieces together for a few years now and I think its going to be their year for a shot at the SB. On the other hand, teams that have been on top for decades are now seeing a change in fortunes due to coaching changes on the lower levels, aging stars and clashes at the management level. The Steelers and Pats seem to fit this pattern. Then again, its just week 3. Everything could change by the playoffs.
  6. I enjoy taking my fly gear out and having fun with sunnies and tiny largemouth at a local lake. Having fished for bass for decades its nice to have a change but still enjoy fishing. I've got a cheap rod & reel combo from fairplay that I bought 2 decades ago. Still works and is as much fun as I need. Don't throw a ton of money into it till you know if you like it. You may regret the purchase. Most of all don't forget why you are doing it. To have fun.

Just last week I saw a couple of guys from NJ at the launch backing the boat down the ramp only to realize nobody was holding the rope. Luckily the boat came off the trailer and headed towards the dock. After they loaded up the boat they pushed it off and started up the outboard. People were yelling to them to shut it off. They hadn't bothered to look at the park rules posted on the board near the launch stating that it was a electric motor only lake. Fun, fun, fun and its only just begun.
  8. I really like the Sig Sauer p320 or 229. The 229 is expensive, ranging between $1000 to $1200 but the 320 is about $650 or less.

Wish I lived near you. At my local Walmart I can't get anybody to the sporting goods counter even if I was face down on the floor clutching my chest with HELP spelled out in full size snickers bars next to me. I've actually seen a woman with 4 kids walking though a Walmart at 3 am. Not a pretty sight.
  10. Maybe Glenn will also throw in a cassette tape or two. Ask for "The Best of ABBA". It has just one song on it, Fernando but they play it over and over.
  11. Mayfield looks like the new face of the franchise. Then again so did Tim Couch, Spergon Wynn, Kelly Holcomb, Jeff Garcia, Luke McCown, Trent Dilfer, Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Ken Dorsey, Bruce Gradkowski, Colt McCoy, Jake Delhomme, Seneca Wallace, Brandon Weedon (currently retired and living in Boca Raton, plays shuffleboard 3 times a week and calls his grandkids.), Thad Lewis, Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel (currently playing in Canada cause its still better than Cleveland and Uruguay doesn't have a American football team.), Connor Shaw, Josh McCown (his brother played for Cleveland in 2004, I guess they don't talk to each other.), Robert Griffin, Cody Kessler (?), DeShone Kizer, Kevin Hogan, and....deep breath, Tyrod Taylor.
  12. Oh cool. Don't forget a report on those.

  14. Some lakes are like that. A lot has to do with forage in the lake. If there are more craws, fish will target on those imitations. Do think about what you are not catching them on, put a lure on that works and catch the heck out of them.
  15. Ssshhhh….don't tell the guys over at Savage Gear. They'll make it in under a week and charge $33 for it.
  16. AOY lineup. J. Lucas J. Wheeler J. Wiggins E. Evers J. Lee Just realized that is a lot of J's. My total weight is gonna be way off cause I forgot they weren't fishing on Saturday.
  17. Big news is....I'm their new vice president of trying stuff out. Its not an upgrade as far as jobs go. More of a horizontal move from what I'm doing now. Pay is in the form of all the lures I can stuff in a Walmart shopping cart. Casual Fridays are optional. Taco Tuesdays are mandatory.
  18. My waders have loops on the shoulder straps that I put the rod butt through. I admit its awkward but if you can come up with something better that would be great.
  19. Enough already. This is just wrong.

  21. Just when it looked like I was going to get a chance to fish the Susky, the rug has been pulled out from underneath me again. Its getting ridiculous. I've started buying oranges at the grocery store because I fear getting scurvy. There are mushrooms growing out of the cracks in the sidewalk.
  22. I'll give it a try. Hope it keeps them away. With Raid ant killer you have to keep spraying it on, otherwise they keep coming back. Not possible when the boat is moored at a lake 30 minutes away from my home.
  23. Its a 17 year old canoe. In canoe years that's 64 1/2. Almost ready to retire. I had to replace one of the seats with a couple of 2x4's and ants have taken up permanent residence in both of the ends. She's served me well and only cost me $300 brand new.
