@Russ E I don't want to pile it on and I know you didn't leave your gun in the truck on purpose but I know people who do leave guns in their vehicles intentionally and I have to say its not a good idea. The times I do carry if I have to leave the gun in the car I put it in a hidden safe and always make sure I take it out when I get back in the car. Carrying a gun is a responsibility that can have dire consequences. That said, I hope they catch the guy and you get the gun back so that it doesn't get into evil hands.
  3. Definitely rock bass and they are tasty. I fillet them, bread them and fry them up.
  4. How many of those little guys does it take to make a pair of boots?
  5. My opinion is its in the way you are rigging it. Try it on a ball head jig or darter head with a weed guard and you should be ok.
  6. Fished my Curado today and I forgot how wonderful that reel is. Quality makes all the difference. Well worth the 2 gift cards I spent to get it. Make the leap and grab a Curado K. You won't be disappointed.
  7. Agreed. Targeting homes with guns is and easy way for criminals to make big money. Stolen guns go for a premium in northern states with stricter gun laws. A few years ago I read a story about a gang of guys who would find homes with signs in their yards like @Way2slow mentioned and steal all the guns they could then travel to Chicago and sell the guns. They made 10k a month doing that. Be smart, keep it quiet.
  8. What do you have? If you have the Frabil, as long as you check on them and occasionally dunk the bucket so they can get fresh water they will last all day. The Genie I'm not sure about. I don't own it but, just as the frabil, if you make sure fresh water comes in they should be good. Only difference is you can't keep as many in the Genie as you can the Frabil.
  9. This year I had 4 trips to the lake in a row where I caught nothing. Nada, zip, zilch, naught, zero. It was frustrating, aggravating and constipating but I still fish. Why? Because needlepoint is too exciting.
  10. One problem I had with the Frabil minnow bucket was the size. It took some time to fish out minnows in a bucket like that. Especially if there were just a few minnows left. If I only fished with a dozen or less minnows on an outing I would try the Genie jar. For under $20 it might be worth it. @Ohioguy25As far as water flow, it doesn't. You can dunk it and the holes in the top will allow water in but when you are trolling I have found the bucket floats even though its weighted and has water in it. It does keep the water temp inside the bucket close to the surface water temp but that is about it.
  11. Flatulence and that's why you need the mask.
  12. Exactly. I'd just add that fluke type baits use keel weighted hooks as well to get them down quicker and keep them down instead of rising quickly when you jerk them.
  13. Unless I can get a good deal on tungsten, I use lead for 1/2 oz or under just because I have too many lead bullet weights to begin with. Over 1/2 oz I use tungsten because of the size to weight ratio. A 3/4 oz bullet weight in lead is gonna be big and defeats the purpose of throwing a heavy weight into lilypads, weeds or northern milfoil. I those cases you want a smaller, streamlined bait and weight.
  14. Remember all the dock owners who didn't complain or have a problem with you, not just the one who did. There are always people going to be angry, upset or ticked off by something or someone. Try not to let it spoil your day. We fish to relax not get aggravated.
  15. I don't own a DC but having looked at the reviews and youtube videos about setting it up and casting I'm thinking that people not knowing the difference between a DC and a conventional reel might be what is causing the problems in some cases. Not all cases, just some. In one video I watched, the presenter was concerned that the casting distance was longer on setting 3 than on setting 2 and couldn't understand why. Having only used conventional baitcasters I can understand his confusion. It seems like if you didn't own a DC version of a reel before you may be in for a steep learning curve on the Curado DC. Just my opinion.
  16. Just a bit of advice, go out to the lake/backyard/local park and make the longest cast you can then spool off another 30 ft or so. Next take a small piece of clear tape and place it where the line meets the spool. Next backlash can only go as far as that piece of tape and save you the cost and aggravation of cutting off all that line.
  17. Counts in my book. Congrats on the new boat.
  18. AACCCKKKKK!!!!!! Starting to look like I'll never get to fish the Susquehanna River this fall.
  19. 2 ounces!! Wow that is a heavy crankbait. Have you fished it yet?

I remember being between the twin towers just 2 years earlier for a concert with Mary Chapin Carpenter. Seeing all those people who worked there and knowing that many may have not made it out. I'll never forget.
  21. Can't believe the Steelers tied the Browns. Should never have happened. Big Ben threw 2 bad passes that gave Cleveland the ball back. I really wish he wouldn't try to make every down a big play. I can't tell you how many times I yelled "Throw the ball away you big idiot!!" right before he took a sack/got the ball stripped from his hands.
  22. Saw something like this years ago on a fishing show. They took it out to some kelp beds and fished for snapper. Looked pretty easy except for the problem of current or wind. As long as you don't want to fish one spot exactly its a nice idea.
  23. Beautiful pics. Looks like paradise for the fly fisherman in me.
  24. Stop bragging.
