  1. I've got a bps7' mh/f 'graphite series' rod as my spinnerbait rod. It's on the 'soft/flexy' side. Usually can be had for 30 bucks on sale. Would definatly be a good beater rod.
  2. Got out today 8-1 for what may be my last outing of the year depending on how the weather shakes out. Stayed mostly with the spinnerbait that's been good lately but only managed to find 3 that wanted to bite with one weighing 4-5
  3. Fished 8:30-2:30 today in the wind and rain tho 70ish degrees made it bearable. Caught 10, 1 on a bladed jig and the rest on a spinnerbait with the best of the day at 4-8.
  4. I would definatly say a spinnerbait cuz If your gonna fish with me you gotta keep up with me.?
  5. Got out today 8:30-1:30. Got 9 all on a spinnerbait with a 3-3 the best of the day.

I wear glasses and clipon sunglasses. Tried cacoons but didn't like them.
  7. I would agree with your thoughts on big baits.also noticed your hookpoint looks rolled over.
  8. Largemouth Smallmouth Pickeral Crappie Yellow perch Pumpkinseed Bluegill Fallfish Snapping turtle Stickfish Shopping bag
  9. I've got a half 2 liter bottle at all times as the epo that lives down the road and I cross paths a few times each year and he tells me I have to have a bailing cup in the boat just in case in spring a leak.
  10. I do but not with the blind ambition I had in the past. I like it best when it works with the over all weather pattern that clicks in my head ' this could be good'. And i won't fish in torrential rain as I've seen how fast it can fill my jonboat with water.like @JediAmoeba i went out today for a few hours in the wind.
  11. Pretty cool @slonezp. I've acually got one similar to your w.m. thats been laying around in my basement for a dozen years or so since it was given to me by a former co- worker.
  12. Buzzbait, spinnerbait ,bladed jig , jig.
  13. Pulled a basically brand new cavitron out of a tree by the launch on my way in yesterday. Nice looking bait. Will have to give it a workout next time out. (After i remove the bead in front of the blade). Still not sure why this is done.
  14. Yes I agree they can catch big fish as my buddies pb 8-6 was caught on a dinger. I just don't think a weightless stickbait is the best way ( for me at least) to do it.
  15. Got out today 8-1. Boated 7 but only 1 topped 2 lbs that weighed 5-9 on a spinnerbait.
  16. @kayaking_kev, you're probably right about the softer top for treble baits. I should have prefaced my post with a warning; 'kids don't try this at home' or something. ?. I'll.say that i probably have lost as many if not more on softer spinning tackle than the rod mentioned most likely due to my horsing fish.
  17. I have a 7-2 mh/xf rod ( not an slx) that has fallen into the role as my do-all(almost) rod. This year I've done everything from jerkbait from shore in March to toads in July and a couple of weeks ago poppers and sz. 90 ploppers for smallies. In between I've thrown spinnerbaits buzzbaits shallow cranks bladed jigs and t rigs. The only thing i won't do is punch or frog or anything over 1/2 ounce.
  18. You can put me in the no senkos camp. Or weightless anything except the occasional sluggo/fluke. I'd rather just get a bucket of shiners, probably cheaper ands just as effective. Definatly agree with this. As I've said before I'd rather try and catch 5 that weigh 20 than 20 that weigh 5.
  19. Kinda south central eastern mass. Northbridge
  20. Massachusetts. And thank you.
  21. Fished today 8:30-1:30. Got 9 with the best being a 4-2 and 4-15 on a buzzbait and a 6-10 on a double wide beaver. Best 5 for the day went 19-15. Pics of the 3 best.
  22. 1:Buzzbait 2:spinnerbait 3:bladed jig 4:jig
  23. Got out yesterday 9-3. Boated 9 punching with the best at 3-9 plus a couple bonus fish on a frog with one weighing 4-7.
  24. Got a bunch of smallies up in maine with the best a 3-6 on a spinnerbait. Back home got a 5-7 punching a double wide beaver.
