  1. I'm converting to all lefties so I'm out for now.
  2. The good old regular split back Rapala.
  3. I was wondering about that reel.
  4. Ain't nowhere near as bad as Shimano Diawa fan boys who think nobody else can make a reel.
  5. There isn't a better $100 reel on the market.
  6. You must have gotten 2 bad ones. I have one and it's awesome. My buddy has one also with zero issues. The reel consistently gets awesome reviews . I would have given Lew's the chance to make it right.
  7. I reel against my thumb on the spool and then pull. Believe it or knot (haha) a lot of times you can pull on a braid knot and it pops right out.i never use a pick.
  8. IMHO leaders are not needed. I use 59 yellow Sufix 832 and color the last 5 feet black . I have no problem catching lots of Senko bass or big bass.
  9. If your fish it on spinning you can use 30 or 20.
  10. I use 50 lb Sufix 832 on wacky and Texas rig weightless senkos. It must not effect them as much as anybody thinks because I catch tons of big fish on them . My best is a 6-6 largemouth on a weightless trig Senko.
  11. The KVD has p2 pinion and is not a painted over mb. Obviously you and dual braking don't get along.
  12. Lew's tournament pro. Lew's mp LFS. Lew's BB1 LFS.
  13. Call them maybe they will send you both gears or sell them to you cheap.
  14. Bass pro shops Patriot rod is made in USA and has a 10 year warranty.
  15. That's an opinion offered to someone having issues with one already. I don't come out and degrade all Diawa and Shimano products automatically like people do with Lew's. Plenty of people come right out and say if Doyo makes it it's garbage. There is a real big difference between the two.i started years ago with Diawa and Shimano. I was happy with Shimano but not Diawa. I stopped buying Diawa and Shimano as prices got to rich for me .The purpose of this thread was also to stop misinformation about the Lew's brand.
  16. Is it still in warranty? Maybe Lew's will send you the main and pinion gears if you call them.
  17. Lew's tournament pro and 50 lb. Suffix 832
  18. It's slightly wider and the front seems slightly higher where the extended line guide is.
  19. It's slightly bigger . I have both. It's not enough to bother me. I bought mine specifically for casting crankbaits far. You can't go wrong with either reel.
  20. DDLMB don't live where I am. Here in NY a 6lber equals DD other places. I almost never have to cut out backlashes with braid. You are doing something wrong. I've probably cut out 1 in the past 10 years.
  21. That's absurd. You may prefer other lines which is ok but that statement is absurd. Practical Reasons I use braid on baitcasters 1) It backlashes less 2) When it does backlash it's easier to get out. 3) when it does backlash it doesn't damage the line 4) for me I feel way more bites and way more of what my lure is doing than other lines 5) it last so long it costs less 6) I lose hardly any lures using braid
  22. You can't be serious about no practical reason to use braid on a baitcaster.
