832 vs Smackdown
Used smackdown and was not impressed.Sufix 832 has been good to me.

Do It All Baitcaster - What Line?
Leaders are not needed. I always use an o ring when wacky rigging Power pro is outdated and obsolete. I suggest Sufix 832 in 50 lb. That's 12 lb diameter so it helps stopping line dig. I have no problem casting 50 compared to 30. As a matter of fact when the 30 digs in a little at times it looses distance. 50 pretty much totally stops this. Guys who say they don't have dig probably have really loose drags.

Braid and a rod’s power
Totally agree. What it does do is on a long cast it eliminated stretch on a hookset. At a distance of 100 feet mono or flouro can stretch up to approximately 10 percent easily. That means at that distance your entire hookset may get used up. This will not happen with braid.

Do It All Baitcaster - What Line?
50 lb Sufix 832 no backing tie to hole in spool Braid backlashes less not more.Brraid is easier to remove backlash not harder.

My Curado DC has a mind of its own.
Like a wheel speed sensor on a car with abs.

What line should I put on my bait caster
Mono has less stretch than flouro. Especially Sufix Advance mono.

No just making suggestions for a better reel IMHO.

What line should I put on my bait caster
50lb 832braid or 14lb Sufix advantage mono. Leaders suck.

My Curado DC has a mind of its own.
Get rid of it and buy a Lew's tournament pro or a Lew's custom lite

Should I get a Bait Caster
Totally disagree. Braid in 50 lb test is the way to start. Definitely backlashes far less and handles better.

Should I get a Bait Caster
Totally disagree with Magforce being easiest to set up. IMHO externally adjustable centrifugal systems are far superior especially to learn on. You set spool tension then turn to full brakes on dial and start backing off click by click. It doesn't get any easier. A newbie starts out and backlash at the start of the cast. The centrifugal brakes take care of this better than any other. If spool tension it set to slow drop you should not get mid cast fluff. If he's looking for the easiest reel to learn on I'd spend 200$ and get a Lew's tournament pro.

Should I get a Bait Caster
Save 100$and buy a Lew's LFS. It will be much easier to learn on and they are awesome for the money.

Mod-fast VS Fast/Xtra fast w/braid?
Possible

Gut Hooking - Reaction Time or Rigging?
Why would you use a 2/0 hook on a ten inch worm ? 5/0 Ewg superline worm hook minimum.
-
Mod-fast VS Fast/Xtra fast w/braid?
Maybe the hook wasn't in their mouth. You said you were using tubes ? Is this with an exposed hook ? You're conclusion of getting a better hooksets with mono makes no sense. More than likely the baits not totally in their mouth.

Spend my money- want a new baitcaster
It's the same reel as a Lew's custom lite.

Why do I spend $$ on “nice” reels??
Where did you get this ? Dodge never used a Mitsubishi transmission in the 44 years I've been a Chrysler master tech. We only used their engines in certain vehicles. We have used transmissions from Asin who builds them for Toyota in certain Jeeps and they are awesome. We also use them in big trucks.

Why do I spend $$ on “nice” reels??
Lew's reels may be built in the same factory as abu and others but they are not exactly the same. They are built to Lew's specs. They provide awesome performance for the money at the 100$ price point and above. I have different models from a 99$ LFS to a 299$ custom lite. All perform well above their price points. As far as the Custom lite goes I don't think you can buy a lighter smoother reel at that price point.

If I was you I'd stick to all Lew's reels.

Spooling What NOT To Do
If your spool gets damaged it's to light and should be used for panfish.
