  1. I fish 50 lb Sufix 832 on my baitcasters. I have no abrasion issues that are any worse than any other line. As far as breaking off 20 feet that should never happen.using 50 lb braid wrapped around a 1 inch dowel to rip snags out either breaks the hook or whatever you are snagged on. I have never found a reason for a leader. I have never snapped a rod with braid or worn out a guide. It's all user error.
  2. Or the trailer only was in its mouth and it popped out and caught him on the head.
  3. Yeah right !!!
  4. It wasn't even close to a snag hook. It was a normal jig. I get that California's law says he can't keep it. I just think it should have nothing to do with it. Bass get hooked on the outside with jerk baits all the time.As long as they are hooked in front of the gills it should count IMHO. He should have been able to release it which would satisfy the legal obligation but get credit for the record.
  5. I agree. How do you stop it from getting hooked outside its mouth ? As far I'm concerned it should count.
  6. Yes or no and why ? https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Freel%2FCddvY9PFfF-%2F&h=AT08KJxIiojSUofowbiE6q0t03nYOIDGD3X5qGy369i2RfWihvncvEtFTBPpU7l3XZ6P0xwNoAFhcqhikBnoIuhZKwve3a-5C-8ccEHS_TTBf70DXgtqVCvuEenN5mmVRGo9&s=1&fs=e&s=cl
  7. Good braid casts awesome. Braid is far easier to get a backlash out of than either mono or flouro. It doesn't backlash any where near as often as the other two. I've fished Sufix 832 over rocks with no issues. Like any other line you need to watch and retie. I e never snapped 50 braid on any hooksets. I have snapped rods. I then learned you don't need to set that hard when using braid. If braid cut through your guides you're using garbage guides. Never had that happen in 30 years with Fuji guides. I use sic or alconite.
  8. I so agree with you on the centrifugal brakes. Especially those with a dial on the side.
  9. That's why my other suggestion was a Kayden.
  10. Does it cast better than Red Label ? For the money Red label wasn't to bad.
  11. I have no sensitivity issues at all with the Sierra.
  12. Dobyns Sierra or Kayden .
  13. I've used Mopar atf 4 synthetic trans fluid for years
  14. So get both and compare them.
  15. Lew's LFS BB1 Pro in 6.2 .made for long casts and reeling in cranks.
  16. Lesson learned. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that you didn't know about. Good man for admitting it.
  17. It's when you pull back past approx a 80 degree angle with your tip up high. Guys go past 90 and explode rods then ask why.
  18. I like my rods simple. Black unpainted blanks with black reels.
  19. You answered your own question. Put another brand on that you haven't had problems with on it. If it still does it then it's the reel. If not it's the line.
