  1. Stick with Dobyns
  2. Once you find it I suggest you just buy more rods and set up half and half. It makes much more sense to than swapping on the water.
  3. Another reason I use high vis braid. I want to see the slightest movement. I kept my line tight then lower the rod a hair to lessen tension. This way you give enough slack without having to much.
  4. No matter what anyone says line stretch kills sensitivity.Cast out a deep diving crankbaits on mono and reel in. All you feel is drag are first and very little vibration.Do the same with no stretch braid. You will instantly feel the vibration of the lure. This enables you to have more input so you can figure out what's happening under water. Crawling cranks over rocks becomes easier because you can feel the edges of the rocks and let the lure float up when it's about to get stuck. You will never feel this on stretchy mono. This is why David Fritts has switched.
  5. Sometimes I close my eyes and just concentrate on the feel. I actually do it a lot. It does help in figuring out what your feeling. I also feel that with braid and fluoro you get much more input which also helps you interpret what you feel. Take a spinnerbait cast far on mono with willow blades and try to feel the blades when it's far out. It's close to impossible. You feel mostly drag reeling it in. Same lure on braid and you feel everything. This extra input helps with interpretation. It's also true when cranking. You can feel the fish come up and start to suck the bait in and then you feel it shut its mouth. You will never feel this on mono.IMHO more information coming in helps with interpretation.
  6. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LEWREEL.html?from=basres BB1 Pro Speed Spool Casting Reel If you want to cast far this is it.
  7. Team Lew's pro SP SLP or Custom lite or Tournament Pro LFS. 50 lb Sufix 832
  8. I know that but mono isn't gonna help at all IMHO. Maybe flouro but definitely not rubber band mono.
  9. If he can't feel anything why would guys tell him to use mono ?
  10. Put 50lb Sufix 832 braid on it and discover a completely new world. What brand of rod and model.
  11. What kind of line? What rod ?
  12. Lew's Custom Lite. At 4.9 oz. It's awesome. Outcasts all my buddies reels. It was a hard pick over my other Lew's. My BB1 Pro LFS 6.2 is great for cranks and is my farthest casting reel. All my other Lew's are great also but the Custom Lite is crazy weightless.
  13. Not a mono line. You can't be using the same line I am. The stretch is far less and it has almost no memory..Xt feels like a rubber and in comparison.
  14. What he said easiest knot ever. I crazy glue the tag end with braid so it doesn't fray. I hate frayed tag ends.
  15. My brother and I caught 153 fish in 1day on worms out of a little cove.
  16. That I don't get.
  17. Sufix Advance mono. Lowest stretch best mono ever made.
  18. I would have gone at least 50 lb for frogging
  19. I'd get a falcon bucoo in 6-6 with a Lew's LFS. I'd use 50 lb braid for less digging and backlash. Mono does not cast better than braid. It backlashes more and is harder to get out.
  20. Good article. I never realized he has caught that many. He had 5 fish over 12 lbs one day.
  21. Ray Scott was a great man.God Bless.
  22. 5 inch Senko weightless trig or wacky
