Get a Lews Tournament Pro with 27 point adjustable centrifugal brake. It's almost impossible to backlash. Buy at Sportsmans outfitters for 159. Or get a 4.9 oz Lews Custom lite for 209. It's the best reel I've ever owned or cast.

I'm a righty. For years I switched hands. Bought a lefty reel by accident. Someone suggested I pitch with it. I tried it and love it. Now all soft plastics and jigs are fished left hand retrieve and all moving hardbait are fished righty. Definately less fatigue.

Lews rules. The lfs can be had for like 89 on sportsmans outfitters.Even better the Tournament MP can be had for 119$. THATS A DEAL THAT CANT BE BEAT.

I have the custom lite slp. Buy it at Sportsmans Outfitters for 209$. It's a fantastic reel. Super smooth and nothing bad to say. I was Leary of the carbon frame but the Tanso tech stuff is super high tech from what I've read so I went for it.IT WEIGHS 4.9 OUNCES !!! So far no regrets. Also makes a great pitching reel.

It's ok until you backlash and kink it. Then that part of it is done.

Line stretch stinks. Use a softer rod and keep your sensitivity.

Lews Custom light will throw that easily and even lighter. The 27 position brake is awesome.Its extremely smooth and weighs nothing. You can't beat it.

They are flouro coated mono. Not true flourocarbon lines.

I fish wacky rig senkos on a 6-6 medium baitcaster with 8 lb test. No twist issues.

Flourocarbons stretch more than mono. It's just at higher pressure and only stretch once. It does not recover !!! It basically damages the line.

Lift the rod up and take the slack out then manually close the bail.

Never go below 12 lb. Diameter !!! That's 50 lb test.
