Not a lot of scorable bass caught yet but that's to be expected with the minimum increased. There have been some great fish caught so far, multiple 5 pounders. People should really enjoy this one.

I don't think people mean to just do random things until it works when they say time on the water. I know that's not what I mean when I say it. I think you obviously need to have an idea of what you want to do an what to look for. That's part of the studying at home for me, but you can do that forever and it won' help you at all until you get on the water and get that experience.

Time on the water is the number one thing. After that it's putting the time into studying at home. I read, watch videos, and go over maps.

Have you considered that it's not worth carrying those products anymore because it's losing them money? Businesses have to restructure what they sell all the time, it's just part of running a business.

Is it normal to cancel due to wind only? I looked at the weather there and it looks like 10 mph sustained winds with just over 20 mph gusts. That doesn't sound all that extreme. We don't cancel kayak tourneys for wind like that.

There are a good amount of women fishing kayak tourneys and more joining every year. Have her check out Kristine Fischer, she's one of the best at kayak fishing and that includes the men. She should join the kayak bass fishing Facebook groups. Kayak Bass Fishing and Kayak Bass Nation are two of the most popular.

The very first step I suggest doing it talk to as many people as you can that run tourneys and clubs. You can learn from them on what to do and what not to do along with the steps they took to get going. Pretty much every club and tourney series has a Facebook group or page so you should easily be able to get a hold of them that way. You should probably start a local club. I think the best way to do that is to talk to friends and other locals to see if there is interest and then start a Facebook page or group. Social media is very helpful for starting a club and keeping everyone informed on what's going on. You'll need to talk to your local DNR to see about getting a permit. Usually you need dates before you can do that so you'll have to have a good idea of the body/bodies of water and the times you want to have your tourneys. Once you have a club established you can contact KBF and see about becoming a partnered club. You do not have to partner with KBF if you don't want to though. I recommend using TourneyX to run your tourneys. You can set that up yourself by going to their website. If you need help you can contact Dwayne Walley, he's the owner and is very helpful. If you are doing a CPR tourney using TourneyX then you're going to need someone to judge all of the photos. These are just some suggestions off the top of my head so there's going to be even more involved.

Making a video game too realistic can ruin it. A game is suppose to be challenging but overall it needs to be entertaining. Doing something in a video game is like doing something for an hour in real life. This is why playing a football game only takes about an hour but in reality they are about 3 hours. I think a fishing game needs to make it somewhat easy to catch fish IF you find the best locations on a body of water. It should make it hard to catch fish over 3 pounds, depending where the lake is geographically. Putting in the time and effort should be rewarded. I've always thought that games like this work best when there are accomplishments to be had. Statistics, winnings, earning sponsors, upgrading equipment, progressing from amateur to pro are all features I would be looking for. Something that emulates real life where you start fishing local events then move onto BASS Opens, BFLs, Costas and series like that. Working your way up to a career where you can decide to fish the FLW or Elite series. Trying to qualify for the Bassmaster Classic. The problem with that is you have licensing issues with BASS and MLF.

Got my Tatula rod yesterday. Looks awesome but it’s like nothing I’ve seen before. The rod blank has grooves in it. Very interesting.

I don't see that as being an accurate comparison since there are not numerous professional fishing leagues that are on the same level as BASS and MLF. MLF sent out invites to the top guys at BASS and FLW. A business is going to try and get the top people from the best businesses, not just any random people. The situation with BASS and MLF is a little different since there are so many people in just a couple organizations. Might be more comparable if there were a hundred pro leagues that were all similar quality but MLF decided to only go after anglers from one league. I'm pretty sure KVD is one of the owners. I think there are 15 anglers that are part owners of MLF.

Sounds like typical business to me. Just a couple months ago there was a new business that tried to get one of our mechanics. Our employee said he would stay if we could match it.

I wonder if people were upset or complained about tourneys changing from larger limits of fish. I know they use to have 10 fish limits a long time ago.

I've got about a 20 mile drive to my main fishing spots.

Reading posts on forums and social media about it I think some really do. Some don't like it because they don't want change and some don't like it because they have a strong dislike for Duckett. Others don't like it because of the way they are promoting it and think they are being shown up their catch and release format. I think it shows just how much some people really care about their way of fishing tourneys.
