  1. I caught this fish on feb. 10th
  2. I did get ahold of Mr. Hinkle. These baits are kind of like unicorns amongst the swimbait community he was more than helpful very nice. And seemed anxious to replace the bait. Free of charge. Some have waited close to a year to get one first hand. He said he'll get one out to me asap.
  3. I'm not sure didn't weight it. It was 21 inches long. I'd guess 4.5, 5 pounds
  4. Some may may not be able to fathom the immensity of how severe this situation is... 2 years sober and I think i need a drink...
  5. 3 cast after a nice fish and all hell broke loose.
  6. Idk I probably have around 200 bags of plastics a few bulk bags of my favs. Maybe 5+ years I don't rely on plastics near as much as I used to. Back when all I wanted to do was catch as many fish possible I burned through plastics like crazy.
  7. What do you co sider bigger swimbaits? Only fish big swim baits if you want to eliminate 80 percent of the fish in the lake. Only fish them if you're willing to fish for maybe a few bites an outing. Only fish them if you want to catch the biggest gnarliest slaunch around. I've broken my personal best several times since swim bait fishing. Including several D.D's.
  8. All year. Keep it simple. Huge percent of big fish diet is smaller fish... my big fish catch rate has gone up dramatically since I've focused heavily on swimbait fishing.
  9. I havnt veered from shimano for the last 6 years. I'd like to try diawas some day. But for now I'd say I'm shimano loyal for sure. They're the best in my opinion. A MART doesn't have a reel sponser. A few years ago he switched from diawa to shimano.
  10. The majority of my rods cost more than my reels. Except for my swimbait set ups. I can definetly feel the difference in better rods. But I have a core 50 mg on a used 70 dollar rod that is a joy to use.
  11. I have the bigger one it's really a good cheaper glide that catches fish. Works wells in mid range depth s 5 to 10 foot range. Whenever my lesser experienced friends go with me and want to throw swimbaits baits they get the shine glides, and s wavers instead of the Hinkles and 250s. It really shines on 17 pound flouro any bigger it starts to get dull
  12. Nope. Think it's funny when people detail their rods. Waxing, erasing cork marks etc. A good used worn off color cork handle carries a little more mojo. Imo
  13. Been fishing ever since I can remember. Probably halfway to 10k hours. Im maybe halfway to mastering finessing lures out of trees
  14. What issues have you heard of with the vmax?
  15. Check out the shimano "Bay game". It's a jdm curado I 300
  16. No . Long story short. Meet my buddy at a smaller idle only lake. LOTS OF TIMBER. Beach my boat get in his with 2 rods and a jig box. Had my rods laying on the back deck. After fishing went to get my boat wind was blowing super hard.jumped in my boat with my nrx in one han, jig box in other hand. I said I'll grab my other rod at the landing. So we're idling back. He stomps on it for a split second doin a " wheely"... hasn't dawned on me yet. Get back load the boats. And I say I'm missing a rod. And then I remember when he gassed on it like a freaking yahoo that does burn outs just because. It would probably be very very difficult. To drag for it. Think lake on top of a super dense pine tree farm.. he did give me a Denali kovert. And a lews speed spool because he felt bad. I still havnt quite let go... that emtf was more than just a rod. It had soul.
  17. my favorite rod now rest at the bottom of the lake. This rod had some serious mojo with two nines a ten a few eights and countless five plus pounders. I'm super bummed. . I'll be by the flea market later . I must relinquish some rods and reels maybe some swim baits to fund another orochii xx /curado.
  18. I've never done it. But I do fish a biffle head or a football jig head with a big worm sometimes.
