Jon boat as first fishing boat any advice?
They have very low sides/gunnels. Much lower than a vhull. With all the weight in the boat and if the wind picks up a small wave could come over the side.

Jon boat as first fishing boat any advice?
I've been in the same boat as you (no pun intended). Jon boats don't do well in any type of waves. Especially if your a big guy (200lbs+) and I wouldn't stand in a Jon unless it's has a wide beam and it's a calm day. I switched to a 14 foot v hull and its much much better. I don't have a trailer but I do have a pick up.

Large Fishing Tackle Outlet
Buy what you can from local tackle shops!!! You might spend a few extra bucks but it's worth it. You can get a lot of local info, etc if you ask. BPS and Cabelas are a joke. They don't have any of the colors, sizes and brands I want. And most of the employees don't have a clue.

Crankbaits for bank fishing?
I get a lot of bites when I'm able to dig the crankbait into the bottom. Give it a try if the lipless or square bill isn't producing. Good luck!!

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Dogbone. I did it once and would love too again. its just too far for me. 2.5 hour ride. Wachusett is under an hour and the place is great. maybe I can go with Mike and I'll take him tuna fishing in return.

I Am Done Buying New Lures!
You mention the reins bubbler shakers. I just bought 7 packs of them!! I basically have a bass pro isle worth of stuff hanging on peg boards in my basement. And 10 rod/reel combos that are $200-$400 each. Wife doesn't understand until I compare it to shoes or hand bags.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I fished with you out there a few times with team Muskie a couple years back. I think the day you got a big largemough. I know mark also. I fished with him out there end of last season and up at the salmon river. We were talking about tuna fishing last year on facebook. I love freshwater but I have become obsessed with tuna on light tackle. The causeway is great. Lakers. Smallies and salmon can be caught there.

I've been seeing them on sale a lot. TW had a big sale on them during Xmas. $70-$80 off. I grabbed one. I got 3 of them. They are great.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I'll probably meet Muskie an hour before sunrise. and do some bait fishing. Then head out to the causeway area and toss kastmasters. Got a pin rainbow last year on a jerkbait Only shore fishing at the Wachusett res. Ive only been out to the quabbin once. It's a 2 hour drive for me. If I knew someone with a boat I'd do it much more.

My Bass Pro Raid (Bank Angler Style)
For top water grab a whopper plopper. They are a little pricey but they work.

My Bass Pro Raid (Bank Angler Style)
Jerkbaits. For the money you can't beat the smith wick rough. Silver with black back/orange bottom. And same lure with a blue back. And I 100% agree with chatterbaits and fat Ika and Drop shotting is tough from shore but try a Carolina rig. The c rig is one of the best imo

Looking for a swimbait Rod
That Rod looks great!! The length scares me a little but it must cast a mile.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I can't wait for the chu to open. Had a great opening day last year. Already planning on what gate to fish but it's going to be an area that's tough to access. Id like to hit the rook but I doubt my 2 fishing partners are up for that trek in the dark. Gate 8? Bull rock? Decisions decisions.

For those a little north of Boston, Arlington bait and tackle is a great shop with great prices. Rod is a class act. Great selection of non lead jig heads and jigs which is hard to find.

NHL Hockey
HUGE Bruins fan here. Played hockey my entire life and I split season tickets with friends from college for years (would go to at least 10 games a year) but i gave them up this year because of the stupid moves they have made. Neely doesn't have a clue. He's the one that approves all of the stupid trades and over paying for marginal talent. I could go on and on.

duo realis/megabass
dsqui. You need to click on "read more" to the left of the picture of the bait to see the specifics. That will show you a table that has length. Weight. Depth. And class which is suspending. Slow floating.

Whopper plopper 90 vs 130
Ive had the same issue with the 90. I got a few of the 130s this winter so I'm going to try them this season. Both sizes catch fish but feedback Ive heard is better success on the 130. I like perch and loon for colors

Good smallmouth ponds or Lakes in Massachusetts
I target lakers a lot in April and oct/nov using the perch and silver/blue kastmasters. And gold/red for salmon. I'm still trying to find the best smallie pattern. Every time I target smallies I catch trout!! I got a few smallies on the ploppers 90. I throw tubes a lot but dont have much luck at all which shocks me.
