  1. The Delta is a great place and addicting. There are a few great launching spots for kayaks. the tides do play a major role. Learn how bass use the tides to their advantage. I am learning that. The potential for a 10 pounder on any cast is what drives me.
  2. I'm not familiar with the San Jose area. I would drive to the Delta. I know it's a drive but, it's worth it. There is a guy on youtube that fishes your area. Look for a channel called Central Coast Bass
  3. Flaming Gorge is western Wyoming. Great smallmouth lake.
  4. And each line can have 2-3 hooks. Welcome to the Left Coast. The weather and bass fishing is great but you will see it comes at a cost. I never get the 2 rod option. But you can have 2-3 hooks on that one line.
  5. The rumor was that the public boat ramps were going to close. So, if you have a friend that lives on the water, you are good. If you kayak, you can get on the water. It's just a rumor for now.
  6. my first trip to the delta will be in three weeks. There was a Wild West tournament this past weekend, 20+lbs won it. So, the big girls are not coming out to play.
  7. Drive towards the town of Strawberry, east of Modesto. There are two nice lakes up there, Pinecrest and Beardsley. There is also Donnell. You can't go wrong up in that part of the mountains.
  8. Central Valley comes down to Bakersfield. You can fish Eastman, Pine Flat, Isabella, Success, Kaweah, Millerton, Hensley and all the lakes around Fresno. You can also drive up the Sequoia, Sierra and Yosemite for trout. Come on over before the weather hits 105.
  9. The Delta is overwhelming. The pre-spawn is tough. I start fishing the Delta in May and during the week. I never go on the weekends. I will be the first to tell you my spots and my gear. I have no secrets. Open book here. Check your PM
  10. That is a great deal for an aluminum frame reel. I like the Academy Mettle for that reason.
  11. I have the Hank Park rod, another Lew's Walmart product, not a bad rod. I have not used that specific set up but I would say it will work for certain applications. Get it and do a review for us.
  12. Try the Brentwood marina area. Bank fish looks safe in that area
  13. do you have friends that live in Discovery Bay, at the Lakes or Summer? Can you walk the Brentwood Marina area?
  14. ND and Clemson, your parents were present to see it. LOL
  15. Try launching out of Holland Tract Marina. If not, Rivers End, Tiki or Tracy Oasis. A-rig or jig. add in a jerk bait. and of course, senko.

    thank you
  17. My own only beef, "they" moved the Rose Bowl because of two coaches crying. Talk about influencing the games. Oh well, I hope ND and Clemson lose just for this.

If not appropriate please delete. I’m looking into investing in fishing or tackle companies that are public. Any names or companies to invest in? Bass Pro and Pure Fishing are not public.
  19. For me, water temps help me figure out the seasons. Winter can be anything lower than 50 degrees (water) in the small pond I fish. Some might say 45 degrees or lower in a lake. Also, are you on the Delta, a lake or a pond? all three have different transition patterns. I could be wrong. So I will see what others think. That's my 2 cents.
  20. I'm a member but I only go for the reports, tides and a few other things. Forum is boring and not informative like here.
  21. I love fishing the delta from my kayak. My favorite spot has to be Tracy Oasis. Frog fishing is great there. I also like Bethel Island for the buzzbait fishing. Rivers End for the frog fishing and stripers. I tried paradise point but it’s too busy with the boat traffic. I prefer the west delta. I avoid the area with no trees. I will be up there soon, can’t wait.
  22. James, Do bass stay shallow in the cattails during the winter like they do in the summer? I live in Central California so we don't have harsh winters here. I fish mostly farm ponds on a kayak. When are you coming out west to fish Clear or the Delta?
  23. and rain in some areas starting tonight, Friday. This past Sunday, my local pond was at 60 degrees. So, they were all in the deepest parts of the pond and not in the mood to bite. Have fun and stay warm. It will be cold for California. LOL
  24. looks great, thanks
  25. Congrats and scale is needed. LOL My kayak has change my fishing life and I have no desire to buy a boat. Have fun and welcome to the addiction. Also, I love that hat. Make it your signature look.
