  1. California Aqueduct too. Look up vids on the Lancaster portion of the cement river.
  2. finesse: drop shot, finesse jigs, small 3-4 inch swimbait on a jig head. If you have cover; trees, tullies, grass: then a texas rig worm or creature bait. I keep it simple, big fish love to eat, so we feed them. LOL
  3. yes, jigs can mimic crawfish, shad or any small creature. Bass will eat trout that have never seen a trout. I follow a guy that throws big swimbaits in AZ on Youtube. He is throwing 6-10 inch trouts and catching big bass in AZ. Crazybassfisher is his name on youtube.
  4. I have been to Chandler but never fish. I was there in the summer, night fishing or early morning is the only times to fish in that heat. Buzzbait for shad and jig for crawfish, they come out at night. Again, never fish there but I live in 105 weather in the summer here in California. Hope that helps a bit
  5. Why hasn't TW created an App?
  6. keep it simple, Lews American Hero MH combo
  7. If you can squeeze out a few bucks, get a used kayak. Great investment and you are on any water. You can probably find a good kayak in your area on Craigslist. If not, Walmart kayaks.
  8. can you kayak or tube the pond? Can you get on the water? a fish finder will help to locate bass now, in the summer, fall and winter. I have a similar pond, farm pond. It's not deep but the bass go deep when it's cold and move up to spawn. They still need to eat. Also, have to tried fishing for bluegill or crappie? bass eat the trout, baby cats and anything else. I think you will be surprised what is at the bottom of that pond. The locals throw chairs and stuff from parties that get crazy. People getting rid of items. Getting on the water would help a lot. Record it and remember what you see.
  9. That is cool. if you can, surf perch fishing is cool and pretty close to bass fishing.
  10. I would add a Texas rig stick bait, when tough, one of my go to baits good set ups there fry spotted at my local pond yesterday, someone jumped the gun LOL
  11. Welcome to the Left Coast. Explain the kind of entertainment You also have central and northern Cali to explore. You can go west and hit the surf perch. Bass gear is all you need.
  12. Here in Central California, DSG is still selling fishing gear.
  13. For 2020 MFL, I am doing a journal of baits and colors used to win the events. I was shocked to see what they were using last year. We, at times, are overdoing it. These guys keep it simple. Try it, it's interesting to see.
  14. In kayak fishing, Greg Blanchard he lives in Cali now, he’s NY
  15. Shore fishing for sand perch. Carolina rig with sand worms from Berkeley. Rent a kayak and hit the big blue. Plenty of kayak guys. https://www.southwindkayaks.com/pages/places-to-kayak-paddle-board-in-orange-county
  16. The Nature of Fishing YouTube channel is from Colorado. He has in-depth vids
  17. I have a 10 foot WS Tarpon for small lakes, ponds and reservoirs. I don’t stand. You need a medium boat like 115 or 12 foot boat. 14 foot is too big. There are some 105 boats that you Can stand. Greg Blanchard on YouTube has one.
  18. I use a 7’6 H Berkley shock rod.
  19. Dude, keep it simple. Go to Walmart and get your gear. When you are making money, you can upgrade to better gear. Many of us started with Kmart gear and we did fine with that gear. I will tell you to get specific gear that you know that works. For example, a jig, dinger or shim e stick, a spinner bait, brush hog and some crank baits. Walmart carries all these types of lures. Don't try to match what the pro have and do. Enjoy and learn. Also, the @Glenn is from the Washington. He can probably give you the WA specific lures. ** Hey Glenn, I still remember your comment about "the" and I being from the California. LOL
  20. The Nature of Fishing- most educational Blanchard Fish the Moment
  21. Check your PM, I will sent you some info
  22. Who makes the BP jig? I buy them at TW, BPS and Turner's.
  23. My first thought, C&R needs to be priority. If FLW goes that route, good. Dead bass after each tournament is not good. Dead bass is ok if a check is cut.
  24. Oahu island has a lake with LMB, there’s a guide service. A Waikiki tour guide office had the pamphlet
  25. Here in California, 103-108 of dry desert heat, zero humidity. That is like fishing in an oven. 4am to 8am or so is about the time I fish. Start with a buzzbait, move to an underspin, spinnerbait, lipless and then hit the cattails with a jig or punching gear. Worm is also productive and of course drop shot. I would say, invest in a kayak so you can get out on the water. Stay hydrated, cover up and enjoy the fishing. If you are frustrated or not having fun, stop fishing and go home. Fishing should be fun and relaxing even in the summer heat.
