  1. ??? some Ribbits left over from a AM fishing trip....:)..... Yep, the ones with hot feet batter up and fry the best lol
  2. Snot grass is filamentis algae. Never caught any fish in or around it anywhere I have fished my entire life. Did catch some frogs floating in it one warm February night.
  3. Hadn't been in 3 weeks or so. Too busy. Sorry. Maybe next week.
  4. Ha ha ha I know better Blaster. That's where I started ? Mr. Dog, glad to see you back. I saw you were parked at the Lil restaurant at Six Mile last week when I left. Maybe we can carpool up North lol
  5. I meant in February when I usually go to 1215 it was lower than it has been in the couple of years I been going regular. I realize 172 is not normal but I'd prefer it to be 170 or more for that area.
  6. I love that area. Didn't go this year yet cause the water was low and I didn't think I could launch there but I'm itching to go.
  7. Caught only 10 today. It was slow for me. I fished shallow this morning and deep in the lake this afternoon. No pattern at all so it doesn't even pay to say what I caught them on. Hope y'all have better luck.
  8. We'll see tomorrow. Headed to Jack's 944 and hoping the fish size doubled from a couple of weeks ago. I'm loving my new weekends in the week lol Good luck and Happy Easter!
  9. 77-10. And he won it catching prespawn fish north of the bridge.
  10. Exact words: "I caught three fish on beds today," said Hartman, an Elite Series rookie fishing only his 13th B.A.S.S. event. "Then after that, the shallow stuff was over. I caught my next 12 fish in 32 feet of water. Those fish in deep water were all prespawn fish — big and fat." At one time they showed him at the mouth of Housen around the community hole I think.
  11. Leader said he caught three on beds and the rest fat prespawn fish in 32 feet. Hell of a range lol
  12. Ha ha it can be a tough lake. That's what I love about it the most! The challenge and the lessons I've learned in 3 years are priceless! Plus, along the way, I now have caught 4 fish over 8 and one over nine while learning it.
  13. Most true thing I've ever seen on here. This year has been like that since January for me. Find something working and it may last a couple of trips at best then back to square one! I've been lucky to have one thing at a time working at times which burns my tail cause I'd rather have at least two or three! The day I caught the 8 pounder in February I joked about the pattern being if you catch on something try something else and go back to it later. Just how it was.
  14. I think a lot are done but another wave is coming on the south end, anyway. Can't report on other areas cause I haven't fished anywhere else. I say this because the fish I see in the shallows are getting bigger the last couple of weeks. Could be wrong but we shall see. Good luck.
  15. I think mpdunne79 should write the articles from now on! My 2 cents! Nice job!
  16. Get em Blaster!
  17. Fished all day today closer to the lake. It was another grind with the watermelon red brush hog. Tried deep but nada. Caught well over 20 keeper size fish so shallow you would think no way. Only way I could get a bite! Seen some bigger ones but couldn't catch em.
  18. Nice job BF! Gonna have to call you Jordan Lee soon! Congrats! Doxus, I really wish I could help you but I know nothing on either one of them questions except watch for stumps if trolling. Good luck.
  19. Caught some 3 weeks ago on a buzz bait so should only get better by then. Today, I went to Housen in a new area to check it out. It was rough for awhile but ended up catching 14. Mostly around 14" fish. One about 4.5. Caught a few on a frog, one on a Rogue, and the rest on a watermelon red brush hog. All very shallow. Tried fishin' deeper but no bites.
  20. Just arrived this afternoon. I like this mid week gig. Fished the last two hours today. Caught 6 or 7 and a gator lol. 3 or 4 keepers some post spawn some slap full of eggs. Spinnerbait, Frog, and Rogue. Hopefully, with 12 hours tomorrow I can give a better report. Good luck!
  21. So far, March has been 10 times worse than January and February for me. Only been in Housen, Six Mile and Sandy. Feel like relocating! I'll be glad when the "spawn" and the millions of humans go away too. Thanks for the reports and good luck to all.
  22. It's all about the area you fish. Takes time to find them places and some days them finicky Florida bred bass are just plain locked up. Keep fishin' bud. I been fishing that same route for a year thanks to you basically the same way you describe and it is pretty reliable.
  23. Keep fishin' bud. That's the secret. The best thing I ever did since being there was quit trying to fish like other people say to. Fish like you want to. Shallow, deep, or inbetween. Whatever you feel confident with.
  24. I second that. Boatlanes.com is very good for the overall picture of the boat lanes on The Bend and even Rayburn. Especially, at the intersections. However, it might just be mine but sometimes it doesn't agree with the buoys. Still trying to figure out which one to trust more so I compromise. I know for a fact some buoys moved in the high water last year. I also know the trails are off in some places so be careful. Great reports too. Thanks. I missed last weekend. Ain't happy about it but hope to give a report after this weekend. Good luck to all.
