I've tried not to be that guy and I have been dat dude too. Whatever it takes. Right now, I'm trying to learn a huge place and trying to learn to fish deep at the same time so I've become more of that guy than ever before until I learn what works for me there. I'm still ole school and usually do the best there with the same old things I've fished shallow my whole life lol

Thanks for the info Hester. I'd rather it be tough before I get there than when I'm there. In any case I love that place and will make the best of it. I've had some of the best fishing days of my life there.

Good job! I fished almost all day Saturday from the bridge to Patroon. Caught 8. This morning I fished Six Mile and caught 11. Tried deep and shallow. Caught them all shallow in spirts in protected places. All new areas to me... still learning the place. Catt, the water was too stained to see any beds but they were so shallow they had to be. Size is getting better too. Caught 3 over 4 pounds

I didn't see any but I saw some dudes sight fishin' and they caught one so it's going on. I think Rippin's was on a bed. Congrats on that fish. Also, heard a big one was caught in Housen shallow on a bed last weekend. I'll look a little harder this weekend and let you know if I see any. Last weekend because the lake had fallen so much, I had to back off some to catch anything.

Navionics maps are pretty good but not perfect, especially in the flat areas. I learned that arm chair fishing and then going to check it out. Also, the creek beds, boat rows, underwater bridges, etc seem to be off a tad. I can't remember which direction. All in all just a good starting point. Good luck. Be there tomorrow afternoon, myself. To each his own. I hunt and fish like a Native American and only keep what I need. In a solid year at Toledo Bend I have kept zero bass cause I don't need them yet. When I do keep some from there, they will be a hair over 14 inches. It's Lent and I love to eat fish and find bass second only to sac-a-lait. I'm just not greedy about it and don't freezer burn fish for my ego.

Thanks Guidroz. It's not really as on as thought it would be. Imagine that lol. So far, Friday I fished from 10 to 5 at 1215 and caught 12. Today fished 11 to 5 and caught 6 in Carrice. The water temps are up to 65 in some places! I think the fish are as confused as I am. Tomorrow? I might just think of something and do the opposite lol

It was tough! I did better Saturday than Sunday! 6 Saturday in a huge East wind bluebird day. Almost got skunked Sunday in a beautifully overcast south wind before a front!? Go figure. Pulled four knot heads at the end near the landing to save the day before coming home. Taught me a lesson again though.

I've tried to get a pattern on all that stuff for a loooong time. Best way to disprove it all and catch fish at the same time is to go as often as you can. I've been guilty of letting that stuff get in my head and possibly effecting when and how I fish. No more. This last weekend was opposite of what it was "suppose to be" in every aspect. For me, from now on, it's fish everyday for as long as I can.

I fished 6 Mile Saturday and Sunday. Only managed to catch 10.

It's most definitely a trap. It usually is. Get her something... anything. A card, some candy, at least one flower lol. Then ask her to go fishing with you. Whatever her reply is, it's her decision so you're good to go fishin'. Trust me, it works and it's not too much to ask to fish with your favorite chic now and again, especially if she likes to take pictures of the fish you're fighting in mid air
