Kayak under $300
I have a cheap and expensive kayaks. I guess ignorance is bliss for you guys if you think they are comfortable. Most of the country lives near a city and most cities have kayak dealers or places to rent them. There's at least four dealers I know of within an hour of Chicago. Dick's and Walmart aren't the only places to buy kayaks

Kayak under $300
This is flawed logic. Even though you liked it, most would be setting themselves up for failure by getting an uncomfortable cheap kayak that would eventually be sold or upgraded. Name brand kayaks hold their value much better if you needed to sell. Demoing or renting a kayak is a better way to see if you like fishing from one.

Let's talk kayak hulls
old town is the same company as OK. OT is geared more towards bass fishing now, OK as their name implies for saltwater and great lakes. most arent standing in big water and need the rod pod for surf launches
-
Aluminum Boat Recommendations
I've fished in these growing up and they are fine for up to 3 people. they arent a true V hull and are flat in the back so you can still get into shallow water. this is the type of boat you typically see for rentals and camp boats in the north country and canada

Costa “Vented” sunglasses work?
My driving glasses are Oakley canteens and they fog up much easier than my Costa tuna alley 580p. IMO brand has little to do with it. Fit, temperature and humidity are all factors.
