  1. On a bait caster is really bad advice
  2. I finally received the Mojo Bass Glass Rip and chatter last week but haven't had much chance to use it yet. it's meaty but surprisingly light
  3. sufix siege is a quality mono. havent tried advance yet
  4. If you like the hybrid solo canoe/kayak style go with the native ultimate 12 or a used wilderness systems commander 120
  5. pro qualifier 2 rods are $60 online right now. you should be able to get the store to price match or order online and ship to store. pair it with a pflueger president XT or supreme. size 30 if you are going to use braid
  6. 12lb sufix siege or trilene XL
  7. st croix 6"10" MLXF works well. this is their "drop shot rod". i've also used 7' MLF. 6lb mainline or leader
  8. I use the SK squadron jigs in 1/4 oz. they have a heavy wire hook so i use 20lb braid on a medium spinning rod
  9. use braid if you want those rods to act like an extra fast and mono if you want them moderate fast. simple solution
  10. I believe if you order two they are $50 each shipped
  11. I have a cheap and expensive kayaks. I guess ignorance is bliss for you guys if you think they are comfortable. Most of the country lives near a city and most cities have kayak dealers or places to rent them. There's at least four dealers I know of within an hour of Chicago. Dick's and Walmart aren't the only places to buy kayaks
  12. This is flawed logic. Even though you liked it, most would be setting themselves up for failure by getting an uncomfortable cheap kayak that would eventually be sold or upgraded. Name brand kayaks hold their value much better if you needed to sell. Demoing or renting a kayak is a better way to see if you like fishing from one.
  13. A little more than you want to spend but I do recommend the St Croix eyecon series. They have short rods
  14. They look like the old triumph x rods but different colors. Maybe they are trying to use up left over components on a limited run of rods.
  15. St Croix Premier are great all around rods made in USA.
  16. the perception hook is not a sit on top. look at the pescador instead
  17. XT has a faster gear ratio and sealed drag. I paid around $60 for my XT's and supremes. just have to watch for deals
  18. old town is the same company as OK. OT is geared more towards bass fishing now, OK as their name implies for saltwater and great lakes. most arent standing in big water and need the rod pod for surf launches
  19. I've fished in these growing up and they are fine for up to 3 people. they arent a true V hull and are flat in the back so you can still get into shallow water. this is the type of boat you typically see for rentals and camp boats in the north country and canada
  20. Pflueger supreme or president XT
  21. state and local tax deductions are capped at $10k now. I'm well over that in IL with just property taxes and state income tax. I'm sure you're not far off in WI
  22. No tax on my order placed today
  23. If you like your president, and want something faster and lighter I would suggest the president XT. You can usually find them for $60.
  24. My driving glasses are Oakley canteens and they fog up much easier than my Costa tuna alley 580p. IMO brand has little to do with it. Fit, temperature and humidity are all factors.
