  1. I'm looking for a multi piece rod and the new Premier is a top contender. Who's tried one?
  2. Do you have the new version premier that came out last year? I have a few of the old ones that are nice but really interested in the new model
  3. wind sucks on every boat unless you have spot lock or power poles. and even then it's not 100% effective. as others have said one handed paddling is key, I use a bent shaft paddle that makes it easier to paddle with one hand. A big advantage of kayak fishing is stealth and you are more likely to spend more time fishing an area vs making a cast and moving along with your trolling motor. I also only use my kayak in small lakes and rivers that I cant get a power boat into. I use my Lund for bigger bodies of water.
  4. I might be too late, but I've directly compared the 6'6 M spinnng Aird-X to the Fenwick Eagle and the fenwick wins in a landslide. best wacky rod I've ever used
  5. last year I compared the Daiwa revros/aird to the pflueger president xt/fenwick eagle. it was not even close how much better the pflueger/fenwick combo is in comfort, balance and sensitivity. the fenwick competes with my $200 st croix victory while the aird feels cheap
  6. I ordered two rods from Omnia last Friday, FedEx delivered them two days later on Sunday. their selection and inventory is improving.
  7. I had major analysis paralysis and all the good stuff sold out. ended up just getting two 6'6 ML premiers. you can never have enough ned rig rods!
  8. which model? I was looking at those but couldnt decide
  9. that's a little rich for my blood. my favorite right now is the victory 73mxf.
  10. yeah I dont really need more rods but it's almost too good to pass up. a lot is out of stock already so need to decide quickly
  11. If you entered the St Croix/Omnia Victory contest, check your email. There's a bogo offer for any St Croix rods
  12. I'd suggest Round Lake or Long Lake in late April. Both those lakes work well for kayakers and power boaters and you don't need a wisco license.
  13. I wanted to follow up and thank you guys. I purchased a Daiwa Aird-X and a Fenwick Eagle to test. The Fenwick is far and away the better rod. The Eagle has a much more comfortable reel seat than the Aird and unbelievable balance. It may balance better than my St Croix's that cost 2-3 times as much. I'll be looking to purchase another one soon
  14. yes, people are catching them in lake county since they removed the dams in cook county. The fox, nippersink, kankakee, dupage, and kishwaukee rivers all have smallmouth as well. three oaks recreation area in crystal lake also has smallmouth but you have to rent a boat from them, no personal watercraft allowed
  15. Omnia has a free Pflueger Trion with any spinning rod deal Free Pflueger Trion Reel with code: FREEREEL4
  16. it's definitely possible to use that cheap of a rod and have good success. but I don't want a heavy rod that balances like crap and is fatiguing to use.
  17. Where did you purchase from?
  18. do you have the current blue model? I have a 3pc fenwick eagle travel rod that has a really soft tip.
  19. Anyone have an inexpensive rod they really like for throwing 1/16oz ned rigs? I can get a St Croix Reign for $75 so looking for any options less expensive than that. I have an older lightning rod shock 7ft ML that works well but have read the new shocks aren't any good. These would be loaner rods/backup rods with a 30 size Pflueger reel and 10lb braid
  20. I bought some earlier this year direct from mepps but havent used them yet. I did notice BPS had better pricing than mepps direct after I ordered
  21. I always thought the plastic or salt content was different. was a kinami senko identical to the GYCB senko?
  22. did they ship in a tube?
  23. Mepps and Bluefox are better than Roostertails in my experience. they start spinning easier and quicker
