  1. there are more victory models coming out November 1st. There's a 7'2 MHM listed here https://www.thornebros.com/products/st-croix-victory-casting?variant=32662641410122
  2. I used to live in the same town as a BPS and would go in there all the time. now I go maybe once a year to do the rod/reel trade in.
  3. $12 shipping. still a decent deal if you buy a couple. there's a few 1 piece options
  4. try the medium casting. if it's like my medium spinning, it's power is overrated compared to other st croix rods
  5. you'd be surprised, there's a lot of nice largemouth in the suburbs but you need a kayak or shore fish ponds to get them.
  6. Wildy Tarpon? Sitting side saddle is nice too
  7. I want to order from omnia because I have a 20% off code but they never have what I need in stock. Seems like a good company and I'll eventually order some things from them. They are magnitudes bigger than these competitors you mention. I bet they are having record sales right now and they have to prioritize the majority of orders coming in with expedited shipping and processing. It's not like they aren't being upfront about it either. I challenge you to price out a $200 order with expedited shipping at TW vs your competitors. I bet it's darn close and you get more of what you need/want from TW.
  8. Just pony up for the expedited shipping at TW. If you place a good sized order you're only adding a few cents per item. I bet they still come out the same price or cheaper than their competition plus a much larger selection
  9. There's a lot of cooler hybrid and electric vehicles now. Don't limit yourself to a Prius
  10. I cartop as well but I was specifically referring to the question of why you'd want a fully decked out kayak with bow mount motor than requires a trailer instead of a jon boat. I used to cartop a 10ft coleman crawdad jon boat too
  11. Razor shadz if you have toothy critters in your waters. otherwise zako or fluke
  12. I think the main reason is tournaments. I dont know of any major jon boat trails. If you're into tournaments it's either a 100k bass boat or a 3k kayak.
  13. those bullets are super heavy though. does the combo balance well?
  14. eh I would pass if I were you. I have a 35 and it's a big reel, 40 would be huge. I like 30 size for bass.
  15. I was once guilty of falling to the monkey and most new kayak owners are too. after nearly 10 years of yak fishing, I'll tell you to keep it as simple as possible especially if you are car topping. If you have a trailer and using your yak instead of a bass boat, then by all means go all out with electronics, accessories and motors.
  16. I switched from the owner wacky hooks to vmc and trokar neko hooks. I think hookup percentage is much higher with neko hooks. just reel until you feel pressure and turn into them. no need for a strong hook set
  17. wow, a lot more rebel owners here than I thought. my 2014 rebel XL 1650 doesnt list. I also never fill the livewell, so maybe that's an issue? I also have two group 27's batteries on the port side in the bow storage. FYI the 2010 rebel is a completely different layout and not relevant. Lund fixed the weight distribution issues with that model by moving the trolling battery and live well
  18. I dont think I've seen anything definitive
  19. I've never had one fail. That said I do use joe bucher and stealth tackle leaders when using musky size lures.
  20. oops yeah I was close. knew it wasnt made in USA
  21. I like craft beer but my go to macro is Hamm's. Pabst Easy is good too but hard to find. Tecate is my favorite cheap import If Yuengling lager ever becomes available in IL I'll add that to the rotation too.
  22. i have the dig in with motor mount. bought from TW during a sale https://www.diginanchors.com/home
  23. if you've never been bit off by a pike or caught one on accident while bass fishing, there probably aren't a lot of pike in the lake. we have a lot of lakes around here with very low pike density and it really isnt worth targeting them. try a #5 mepps agila firetiger with a cheap 20lb berkley leader/swivel
  24. scotts EZ seed or pennington one step are good for bare spots. very simple to use
