Top Classic Baits
Wonder why Fothergill didn't mention the jerkbait? Anywho...yeah, my 'lol' regarding his lack of a search bait was because I knew he was scoping.

Top Classic Baits
I've always thought they add in a sponsor bait or 2, but the top 5 or so have a camera on them constantly and you can usually see what they are throwing. Fothergill had the right technique, but I'm not sure how important that particular worm was.

Top Classic Baits
I know, right? I guess if you know where a bass is, jiggling a neko worm in his face is a great idea.

Top Classic Baits
I notice the winner didn't need a search bait at all, lol. https://www.bassmaster.com/bassmaster-classic/slideshow/top-lures-of-the-2025-classic/

What are generally considered the best performing 3-5’ crankbaits for $10 or less?
That's how I like'em generally. I don't know why LC wants $18.99 retail for a 1.5 with the Deep Rattle Sound vs $7.99 for the silent version 🤷♂️.

2025 classic
I went to the classic expo last year, but had no interest in the weigh-in show that has a mortality rate of 30% or worse IMO.

I definitely have 2-3 lifetimes worth of squarebills. You will have an epic day or two on another bait that will trigger the Silverback 'monkey'. On topic- if you haven't tried the LC KJ flat 1.5...it is dynamite. You can get 2 on the auction site for the price of one @ msrp.

When I discovered how easy it was to catch bass on a shallow squarebill...I wanted every one ever made.

Is Forward Facing Sonar all that bad?
We stare at computer screens all day...at work...at home...and now at the lake. It's a must to win a bsss tournament now. Sigh...

Daiwa Steez Real Control rod!
Minimal. Shattered my wrist last year and was sidelined most of the season. I played with it some in a nearby pond. Reel seat is roomy/comfy and power to weight is phenomenal.

2025 classic
I watched a couple videos of Fothergill catching hogs on his spinning rod. Couldn't see the bait, but google AI said it was a 3/16oz bitsy bug w/ rage menace.

The Japanese anglers wouldn't be surprised...they love pink.- Daiwa Steez Real Control rod!
I have the JDM model as well. No way I'd pay the local price.- What are generally considered the best performing 3-5’ crankbaits for $10 or less?
Agreed. I like the 4a...very similar to a bandit 200.- Shakey head for largemouth
Spinning rod for sure.- Anyone use only one brand of soft plastics?
I ignored them as well...until I saw the rattlin' ned worms on sale. They work...- LOVE and Hate the "buy $50 and get free shipping" thing.
Yep. As a kid, It was exciting when I had to fill out the BPS order form and mail it in. Had to use my parents CC or get a money order. $50 was a sizable order!- Bass Puzzle 'Grass Piece'
I'm about to find out! - Anyone buy hand pour soft plastics?
