  1. I am a bit odd I suppose, maybe it makes me more memorable. I appreciate the insight on the brakes. Some people are mechanically inclined and I'm not one of them. That zillion minor backlash wasn't unthimbed...I could do better.
  2. Very nice...the original 893. Liked that rod a hair better than my nrx 893 only because it was maybe a half power heavier.. Just right. Dynamite plastics rod...still don't like any 3 powered Loomis for jigs.
  3. This pond is at admiral and 14t5h oklahoma mike. I'll just tell you before you pm me.
  4. My outing yesterday spurred this. My Concept AK (I named it this...it's an 'A' with all the kp parts), was really beating up my zillion, and I can't imagine one of my steez's beating it either. Closest thing to my ak would be an old burgundy scorpion 100a or a tdz 105 I used to own. I believe the kp spool is a 10.5 grammer. Has some crazy 0-60 times. I'm thinking it's the btakes. Some pics. This is my newly discovered 'spirit lake'....a pond full of 12-14" bass for testing and lots of ticks. The best backlash I could muster with brakes on 2 Had a newbie...she's one of my roommates and 'she would love to catch a bass'. So come on! Unfortunately, the slider didn't produce a bass for her.....I apologized and let her know she may be the first person on earth to not get bit on a slider. Here's the ak.... No big ones here....we've got a max depth of 3 feet. Seems to paralyze them. If you would prefer to get laid instead of catching bass...we offer that here...
  5. I remember that. It was a long time ago when the steez first came out. I think your long list of expensive stuff produced an eye roll or two. Who cares though right? TX hawgs reminds me of you circa '08.
  6. I like your vid....I like it because you aren't trying to be too fancy; you've got exactly what you need to catch bass. I used to be more like this versus trying to match crap. This isn't high school...it's bass fishing, and I probably need to realize this as much as anyone.
  7. Here is my buy one, get one Pline tactical haul...right next to my lucky craft Christmas haul. Shows how much I needed the L/C's. I will say having baits in the package lying around makes a man feel good.
  8. I thought for sure he was talking about a loomis spinnerbait rod as well whrn I read the thread title.
  9. Very nice....and your 420th post. I'll celebrate for ya.
  10. Is this a mail-in deal? Can't find any info online.
  11. Nice rig...like the spicy tdz. I can't figure out why your 844 has an extra burl cork ring in the foregrip than my 843 has. Not that it matters...but my ocd would want them to match my other mbr's.
  12. They just had a few models on sale. Still have a tour versatile for $222. https://japanlureshop.com/sale-and-specials.html
  13. I wasn't in the market for an xx...but seeing your pics makes me wonder if I should have jumped on JLS's sale.
  14. I don't own either, but I would choose the metanium due to a bit less line capacity and well, it's sexier paint job.
  15. I dig it. I dig ito reels because he 'throws together' stuff we or I would not think would look good together and makes them work. If you told me you were going to paint your reel rust metallic and put a purple line guide on it...I would have advised against it. However...your reel looks badass. Go figure...
  16. I agree with you mostly, but Martha Stewart's recipe doesn't guarantee you one of her pies.
  17. St. Croix rage for $99... http://www.cabelas.com/product/bargain-cave/new-this-week/boating-fishing|/pc/105591780/c/105633180/sc/105638580/st-croix-rage-casting-rod/1253428.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fboating-fishing%2F_%2FN-1102644%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105638580
  18. The vajayjay.
  19. It's preference as mentioned. Every time I site graphite as being superior, I see one of my favorite pros using glass and touting it's advantages.
  20. Good looking jig rod. Going with a 2-peice?
  21. Remember when you could get the old mbr glx for under $300 online (2002ish). You could get prettier, but really not better...
  22. Id agree with you under the classic impression of evergreen, however, did you see the latest evergreen review on TT...less than stellar. I think when it comes to blank performance, high end American rods are the deal, and I'd put Gray's near 25 yr old glx graphite against any megabass blank today. Just playing devils advocate...
  23. Be the first on the block to own the new tat sv tws. I think they are going to be under $200, and look very nice. I think they will be available around the classic.
  24. This was the one in Broken Arrow, OK. Before the last spring classic they had megabass xx's and a few other nicer sticks. When the classic wiped them out I haven't seen them back. I figure they are stocking what is moving, but I just feel they need to have the upper end lines to be big league.
