Rod question.
The 843 Loomis used to handle those baits for me, and do a terrific job. I still use a 7' mh/fast Loomis, just now it's one of his edge rods. I will say I like the newer 7'3" length folks are going with these days though...

Spinning vs casting for dropshot
I grew up jigging for crappie with a spinning rod, and I'm right handed, so spinning makes more sense to me while working a drop shot. Mine and I figure most other folks dominate hand is their more agile one, so this really is the factor Im looking at more than the choice casting/spinning.

HLC vs SV Zillion
Hlc is a 1/2oz and up reel, and most reviews I've read say it does a good job of this. Jun at Japan tackle has a good description... http://japantackle.com/casting-reels/daiwa/low-profile-casting-reels/reg0000196.html I just prefer the smaller size of the zillion sv/tat ct frame.

The latest sale thread
I'll have to check out the cabelas brand. I've been wearing the north face convertible pants for years. My current pair I purchased in '08. They have a lifetime warranty, but I bet cabelas does as well.

Question...Which normal priced setup casts farther ? Spin or bait ?
Unless you are talking a 1" weightless grub or 1/32oz hair jig . You can cast a knot with a spinning reel. There is no bfs spool that takes less inertia to spin than line just flowing off a spinning reel.

Post your best fishing tip
Join a bass club and fish as non-boater in some tournaments. Before the internet, it was this and watching 'the bassmasters' or reading bassmaster that taught me everything I knew.

Lipless Crankbaits In The Summer
Yep...and I like stroking them and letting them shimmy down. Very effective. I do this with chatterbaits as well.

Jig skirts. Silicone or rubber
Rubber has a more natural/neutral buoyancy. A combo of both rubbdr/silicone is popular now days. Never tried a skinny bear, but judging by the fact tackle warehouse is usually low in stock of them, I imagine they are good.

Go to bait
Easy...a 4" Charlie brewer slider worm.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
No sheet. Here in tulsa our sales tax is 8.5% I believe, and all our teachers are walking out Monday. We vote on medical marijuana in June. Maybe that will bail us out.

Imx pro vs champion
I wont argue against a custom, but I would love for you to fish a great Loomis. Changed my fishing a while back (or maybe really 'enhanced' my fishing).
-
Imx pro vs champion
Have you tried the imx -pro? I'm not going to argue about the second gen Imx, which received some negative reviews, but I figured Loomis took notice about this and corrected it. The gen 1 imx and glx were neck and neck.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I'm getting ready to buy my second bass raider.....going with the 10ft this time. Trying to decide between a 40 or 50lb endura motor. I realize the 40 is enough, but I go out all day and usually venture far. Scooting back to the ramp fast with a 50lb thrust sounds appealing. However, I am curious if even though I generally stick to speeds 1 or two mostly during the day if the larger motor will drain my battery too soon. Thoughts?

Anyone else not a fan of the Tatula TWS?
Your line is on your finger during the cast? Im trying to see this. I used to keep my line on my finger while fishing jigs/worms, but I quit back in '01 after buyinging my first Loomis mix. Didn't need to anymore I thought, and if I could prevent inbreeding plunge cxx kn MH figure again...even better.
