  1. My other 2 tat sv tw's. These are slp works crazy crankers with zpi spools and star drag.
  2. I had an 843 for a month and sold it due to the seat. My fingers felt cramped. I like all my fingers above the trigger and I need a little more room. If the new seat doesnt bother you, it's a fantastic rod. Really wanted it to work...I've always been a glx guy.
  3. Pretty sweet. I need a line hookup. I'd be willing to use a seaguar avatar. Make that call for me buddy!
  4. Lightning rod for me as well. Purchased in '89 or '90, It was the newer model with the marbled eva in 6'M. They ran $39.
  5. I don't miss bites on my $60 academy rod, they are just more pronounced on my higher end sticks. I dont think most on here purchase their high-end rod thinking they will catch more fish. I buy high end boots also, but not thinking I'll walk better.
  6. 2 of my tat sv tw's. Zpi PG spools and tension knobs. Have OG corks on one, and some limited blue Slp's on the other. Edit-Im having a hard time with my new photo hosting site.
  7. You never know if a new model really is a better deal until it is released. The '16 glx saw a price increase even though they swapped the titanium guide frames for stainless. I dont think they thought anyone would notice because the overall rod weight is down. If the new nrx has torzites or sic's, I'll like it better.
  8. That 3/5 rod case from sportsmans looks sweet. I m going to pick one up.
  9. For consistently throwing jigs 1oz or over, you definitely need an XH. Looks like all expride's are sold out at tackle warehouse, but I'd look at the 7-3xh.
  10. I'm looking to order the Poison Glorious 6-9XH as my walking frog stick. 117g. 14-150g lure weight. Comes in a 7-4 also (135g)
  11. 'Line conditioner' is just quick detailer, and should nourish your line and offer uv blocking properties . I use it on my reels, rods, and line...really everything plastic or painted I own. I'm using megiars at the moment.
  12. I do this. I'm extremely OCD. I always buy in pairs. Rods dont need to be the same model, just look the same.
  13. 15lb CXX. I did watch a 'bass pros' episode where ish was throwing buzzbaits on s 7-6 mh/mod fast rod with braid and spoke of his perceived benefits.
  14. I would just use it for shallow cranks and top water.
  15. Yes. I'm a fan of their football jigheads.
  16. I'm not the first to say this, but the Poison glorious and conquest rods almost certainly use the same blank, and are priced similarly at Tackle Haven,. Shimano's flagship rod is the poison ultima...particularly the '20 triangle grip 172H.
  17. That's great...I enjoyed looking at your ancient arsenal. I immediately noticed all the pistol grips...Larry nixon approved wormin' machines I'm sure ?. I was 6yrs old in '84, so I was probably still using a snoopy spincast combo. I've seen people post their old rod/reel combo from yesteryear, but never a complete arsenal. You were a pioneer...you had the tournament arsenal before tourneys were common.
  18. I 'liked' your post because I can appreciate this train of thought. I am in both camps; I have reels that I use for tournaments and nasty environments and also several fancy reels that I like to fish while wearing khakis. I'm kidding about the pants, but I want my higher end reels to hold their value because I may upgrade to the latest and greatest in a couple years. The beaters will remain.
  19. I would put the rocket on your 7'5" for pitching/flipping....the 5.1 ratio on your 7-6 H/mod for larger deep divers, chatterbaits, and other larger tasks. The 7.4 met on your 6-6mh would be your do-it-all rod from walking baits to squarebills and everything in between.
  20. Tackle Haven has the perfect pitch and EMTF in the used section I was viewing last night. The PP was listed at 180g and the EMTF at 168g. Just kind of surprised me.
  21. My reel sounded similar last week (13 concept z). I was fishing mucky water that had a film on top. Gummed up my worm gear. It would behoove you to keep a can of electric motor cleaner around for a quick clean and lube of the worm gear or any part without disassembly
  22. Does this new extreme have an updated blank?
  23. You definitely want a quality protective coat over your paint...something as durable as possible. I havent painted a bait in a few years, but when I was most folks were using Devcon 2-ton epoxy or a product like Dick Nite's lure coat.
  24. I have the square route of a sheetload.
