  1. Pline Tactical would probably be my first choice, but I like Trilene 100% a lot. I used Trilene 100% exclusively for several years when it first launched. I actually purchased 4 2000yd spools of the100% from Skeet Reese via ebay. No kidding.
  2. How a reel fits my hand is paramount in my selection of a jiggin' reel. I keep all fingers above the rod's trigger while working bottom baits, and my hand feels cramped/uncomfortable with certain platforms. The Steez sv tw is a little too wide for my hand while jigging, and my finger hits the t-wing at times. Going to try a ct steez to try and match the palmability of my 13 concept reels.
  3. Sweet I love Sierra Trading Post. I buy nearly all my clothes there, as well as sunglasses, boots, and when lucky....fishing tackle.
  4. Having that flo-red colorado 'kicker' blade on there is just killer....especially in early spring. It was no surprise to me when Edwin Evers used one to help win the classic on my home lake (Grand Lake). Edwin's bait (war eagle) and my Red River spinnerbaits run a #4 gold willow on the end to help it run a little deeper.
  5. My uncle (and instructor) uses Ande on his spinning rods. A few springs ago I netted a 6.5lb bass for him while he fished a rogue on 6lb Ande. Made me a believer.
  6. That new Zenon is the one you should be after ?.
  7. I'm a guy that emphasizes the rod. I'd pick up a 7-2"H Poison Adrena ($288 during BF sale) and pair it with a fuego to hit your $350 limit. The softer tip of this rod makes it somewhat vetsatile, and it would work for single hook moving baits as well.
  8. Sweet dude... I love the ci4 reel seats. Plus, 6-10" rods are the shizz
  9. The Antares will be worth it. Whether or not to go DC is more debatable.
  10. I'm running the 1012 (steez 105) spool in 6 of my zillions. Definitely my favorite spool. Haven't tried the boost spool yet....
  11. Products must be marked with the country of origin, but it's usually a sticker you can just peel off.
  12. First TW order ever? You have resisted many bargains over the past 2 decades.
  13. I like 12 or 15lb CXX for a dedicated pitchin' rod (not working the bait back to the boat) . I don't see a need for fluoro in a shallow water reaction bait unless you are trying to get more sensitivity out of your rod.
  14. I agree with your appproach, but I also like to throw a color I think the fish don't see often. Maybe motor oil/gold mf instead of watermelon seed and south african special instead of black/blue. .
  15. I'm down to 2 original Bagley B2's. I had purchased 20 or so back in 2005 on sale at Academy. In my last TW order, I picked up a couple of B2's and was unpleasantly surprised that the B2 had gone on a diet and was slimmer/skinnier than the original. The 'new' B2 has a body more like the killer b2. This pic shows the new bait on top/old on the bottom. I'm looking at the old school balsa bait company's lineup, and they look nice and right. Price is great. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Old_School_Balsa_Baits_Squarebill_Crankbait/descpage-OSBSB.html Anybody tried these? I do have quite a collection of more expensive balsa, but just can't/won't fish them as hard as the cheaper baits.
  16. I think he was kidding about adding 3 fg knots
  17. I was referring to the new boat he is planning on purchasing. I guess he could be buying a johnboat with a 15hp.
  18. Naah. The Lews KVD costs about the same as a tank of gas.
  19. Digitaka has the ct back in stock. I'm not aware of any updated version of the '19 ct steez.
  20. No kidding....I just noticed a couple of colors I 'need'.
  21. Noticed an ebay coupon for 10% off wood bait country products. I had been wanting to order some of Tim Earick's buck creek crankbaits, so I indulged. Just couldn't weed any out of my cart. These are an even mix of dinky donkets, money maker 1's and 2's. Tim claims to test every bait, and he signs them.
  22. Well, the original smithwick rogue rolls in place when you jerk it, vs slashing/walking like the majority of jerkbaits do these days.
  23. Same here in Tulsa. Had a reel I ordered during the christmas sale I wanted to exchange in-store. "We don't have a fishing department" I was told when I arrived.
  24. 20lb is used for abrasion resistance. Its more about being a thicker line and maintaining strength after abrasion.
  25. Nice fish. I'm wondering how your tackle warehouse hat ended up with a backwards logo.
