  1. I like the Booyah baby boo jigs, but they have a very limited color selection.
  2. I saw these 'rocket shads' in heavier sizes at TW. I would have ordered a couple, but they were sold out of nearly all of them. Tells you something....
  3. An 844 Loomis in any flavor makes a great frog rod. Would be my recommendation...
  4. Is the vanquish frame magnesium or ci4?
  5. Yea...the ol Arkie hair jig that walmart sells has caught me a lot of colder water bass. Thinking of trying one of the new leather trailers and see how it stacks up against the uncle josh.
  6. I haven't used one, but the reviews are good, and TW is sold out of that 8:1. If its a good price, why not?
  7. My uncle, who taught me...still holds his rod this way. I knew he had just purchased a fleet of NRX's, so I asked him if he still cradled his line. 'Yep'.
  8. My Japan Lure shop order came in today. All O.S.P baits. Red packaging- tiny blitz MR's. . Blue packaging- blitz DR's. Then a single blitz MR and rattling blitz on the far end. At $12.76 a bait vs $22 @ Tackle Warehouse....I feel like I hit a JDM bait sale. Shipping was cheap at 1200 yen, but they sent me a free deps bladed jig...so its like it was free. Free gift..
  9. When I frst started using casting reels at about 12yrs old (1990), I was told to keep a finger on my line (index) when worming/jigging. It wasn't comfortable, but I did. That changed when I purchased my first higher-end rod in 2001(an IMX). You?
  10. Senkos are only $6.34 a 10pk at our Tulsa wally worlds. They really haven't gone up in price like other soft plastics.
  11. I have VHS tapes of 'The Bassmasters' and one of the episodes had Woo Daves flipping a mister twister phenom worm into thick bushes. He was using a spin cast reel because "I can stick my rod straight into the thickest part of the brush and just push the button, allowing my bait to drop on a slack line" It would have been difficult to practice traditional flipping where he was fishing. He won the tournament if I remember correctly....
  12. Yeah...even with my terrible eyesight, I need to do this on my 2 power spinners. Currently they are only used for open hooks due to line stretch and blank flex.
  13. 6lb cxx is .009" and very strong.
  14. Running 15-17lb Pline Tactical or CXX. I fish worms and jigs with a semi- slack line it seems, so straight fluoro or copoly is how I roll.
  15. I've only handled the first gen XX's when BPS carried them in store. The 'great balance' didnt override the rods heavier weight IMO. Opinions are like b-holes though, and these rods have a following. Sure would look at the adrena...
  16. I was going to recommend the Trilene XL armor coated line, but it appears to be discontinued. The coating resulted in a little thicker line per lb test, but significantly enhanced abrasion resistance while maintaining great castability. Another good one bites the dust....
  17. Saw a video years ago I can't find now, of a tribal guy in a bamboo boat....casting and reeling in his lure with his hands. He was really tearing it up. He also whacked every fish over the head immediately after landing them. Anybody seen this?
  18. I agree. I hear of people fishing light t-rigs and jigs on the 2 power Loomis rods, but I prefer more power for setting the hook.
  19. I wish they still made the 804 nrx...would be a sweet shorty frog/jig stick. I have the old 843 nrx (3/16-5/8oz) which was discontinued, and its among my favorites. I don't think you have too many rigs....I'd keep them all. I bet balance isn't a problem with that setup ?.
  20. My hands didn't agree with the new glx reel seat, but if it fits your hand...go GLX 783/843.
  21. The new NRX+ blank has the addition of 'spiral X construction' , which shimano employs on the Adrena, Glorious , and Ultima. Same graphite/scrim as the OG, and rolled in Wiodland, WA.
  22. Shimano's Conquest and Poison Glorious rods use the same blank. There is a new '21 Poison Glorious utiluzing toray 1100g graphite and nanoplus tech. Id bet this new Glorious blank will be next years 'Conquest +'.
  23. I'll probably just keep them. Thanks...
