  1. I doubt you'll find someone with both. I would bet sensitivity is close between the two. Judging by the line rating of 8-20lb, the megabass should be a softer tapered rod. Lifetime Warranty favors the Loomis. Looks favor the megabass.
  2. I don't have one, but everyone that owns one spesks highly of them. Known to be a performance value. I've looked hard at the ms-x but never pulled the trigger. https://www.majorcraft.co.jp/rodbrand/ms-x?lang=en
  3. Early spring/prespawn- slow rolled 1/2oz spinnerbait (jerkbait for lightly stained or clear water). Going to try slow rolled red eye shads and heavy chatterbaits this year. Spawn- shallow diving crankbait Post spawn- compact 1/4oz spinnerbait or mini chatterbait. Summer- buzzbait early, then fat shallow crank (b2/bds2) Fall- buzzbait, fat shallow crank, trap.
  4. If you are hard on your rods, I suggest a store brand rod that offers over-the-counter no questions asked replacement such as BPS or Academy h20 rods. I have an Academy Ethos that sports a 30 ton blank+ fuji Alconites, and its a nice rod....especially for the $59 I paid. They have a new Ethos with a monoque handle that looks very nice for 100 bones.
  5. Fluoro gets your jerkbaits deeper...definitely the most beneficial aspect for me. 8# sniper FTW.
  6. I thought 4" finesse worms were a numbers bait....never saw a weenie worm win a tournament. That was until KVD went down to lake Lewisville in Texas and not only won the tournament with a 4" worm, but caught the lake record LMB at over 11lbs in the process. I guess even the big girls like a small easy-to-catch snack every now and again.
  7. I'd go with one of the Powell's....or an Ark, which I haven't tried but get great reviews.
  8. I used tubes infrequently until Gary Klein used one on 'A day on the lake' article in Bassmaster magazine years ago. He smashed the record for total weight throwing a smoke/red flake power tube w/ tail dipped in chartruse spike-it. He said a tube was his favorite post spawn bait. Tubes are now a staple for me.
  9. My Sierra Trading Post order arrived. I noticed while shopping for christmas presents that they had received a some 13 fishing plastics and some Evergreen cranks. I figured I'd wait until they went on clearance, and they finally did last week. Scored a heap of bubble butt, rabbit ear, thin rabbit ear, and some swimmers. Evergreen..... 9 cr-4's and 3 cr-8's. Yo-zuri 'noisz' wakebaits.
  10. I found the vid I was referring to, but I can't link it directly for some reason. It's the second one going down. Worth a watch... https://www.google.com/search?q=biggs+crankbait+vid&oq=biggs+crankbait+vid&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.10037j0j7&client=ms-android-att-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#
  11. You could just call 13 fishing and find out....I have called a couple of times with questions and they are a helpful bunch. Me? I'd just order bearings from a reputable vendor like BOCA and call it a day.
  12. My p5 kasumi was $348 from japan. Shipping was $65 for 2 rods in the same tube. I buy from U. S. retailers mostly, but if you want a megabass....I'd go to a jdm site.
  13. I watched a video recently by a Texas pro on squarebills (I only remember his last name was 'biggs'). His rod choice was the imx-pro cbr 855. This rod is labeled as a heaivy, fast tapered rod. He wasn't even fishing heavy cover...he was tossing a 1.5 at docks. Just my random contribution to this thread, lol.
  14. Falcon cara is at the top of your budget, but since you fish 'a lot' ....I'd go for it. 7'3" H 'amistad' would be the deal.
  15. Looks good, but it would sign me up for a dump.
  16. I noticed this as well. There was a time when the kut tail was as popular as the senko. Those new owners better not be messing around ?
  17. The missle baits quiver worm has impressed me. Last day to get them for $2.67 a pack @ TW. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Missile_Baits_Quiver_Worm/descpage-LFKD.html
  18. If you hear banjo music...definitely run!
  19. I like the botton slider head ?
  20. Having your own business is great....you can claim lots of things as 'business expenses' on your taxes ?.
  21. The red 7.3 zillions are the only ones that cane that way from slp (2019 model). The purple slp zillion 8's ('16 model) came with standard zillion 1016 spool and a black star drag, so I just added purple star's and purple 1012 soools. Its the way they should have come imo. The pink 9's are a standard jdm zillion 9.1's that I added slp pink stars and knobs, Gunmetal zpi CC cap and g1 1016's from my steez. Slp Tat's came with a purple sv spool/black star.
  22. Sweet....but you'll have to spend a little more at the moment to source one. Digitaka is nearly wiped out of the vanquish.
  23. I appreciate the comments. I also have some 13 fishing reels I picked up last year for tournaments, incliment weather, or any time I just don't want to worry about reel rash. The concept reels are small/palm well and the brakes are reminiscent of my old mg50's. If they get rough in a year or two, I'll probably drop the new brass concept A gears in Im running 3 different spool sizes in the concepts. 12lb/100yds (top), 12lb/75yd (bottom right), and 12lb/125yds (bottom left)
  24. Been sick most of the week...don't know if its covid because monday is the first available testing date. I've worn out the internet because I don't feel like doing much else. I decided to contribute some reel pics. Zillion 10's Zillion 9's w/slp parts Slp Zillion 8"s Slp Zillion 7.3's Tatula slp Crazy Crankets w/zpi parts Tatula 8's w/zpi parts Steez/zpi
