Should do well with jerkbaits, too.

Colors
26 years ago I was introduced to the slider worm in a club tourney (I was 15). My boater was crushing it on what I thought was a weenie worm. I busted out my trusty kalin's on a jighead and he said 'that wont work the same'. He tossed me a camouflage color slider worm rigged on an original slider head. He finished 1st and I took 2nd. Now I almost always have one tied on.

Metanium DC vs Aldabaren MGL vs steez SV TWS
The steez has daiwa's new zero adjustment cast control. Supposed to be set from the factory to accommodate nearly every casting situation. I mess with mine a hair, but I wont confirm I'm actually affecting it. On to the topic; I'll start by saying that what you are going to use the reel for is key here. I view the aldabaran and steez as light duty reels, with the matanium DC specializing in bombing midrange weighted baits

Finding a winning bait
Yea, I incorrectly posted that he placed 2nd, but he finished third. Complete article... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-2019BMCOD.html

Finding a winning bait
I've found a few baits over the years that ended up being big producers for me. One notable find was a rebel spoonbill minnow in Tennessee shad I snagged about 25yrs ago. Suspended perfectly with the lead they had wrapped on the trebles and the fish were ready to eat it. Never had this happen in a tournament like it did to second place classic finisher Jesse Wiggins. "He started out throwing a Jackall Bling 55 square-bill in practice. He hooked a broken line that had custom-pained flat-sided plug attached to it and, figuring the angler who lost it probably knew what he was doing on the venue, he began fishing it. He eventually surrendered that bait to the lake, just as the previous owner had, but was able to find two just like it at a local tackle shop and managed to keep those throughout the event"
- Winn Grips or Cork? What do you prefer?

I'm Done!
Hmm. Line memory should be at its lowest point coming off of a fresh spool. Maybe it was a spool that had been sitting on the shelf several years.

I bet the slp works color star drag that fits the alphas sv would work for the new model. https://www.digitaka.com/list.php?category=12&series=DRESS+UP+PARTS&item=SLPW+COLOR+STAR+DRAG

Hey jerkbait guys..
I run Sunline sniper. 8lb for 3/8 and 10lb on 1/2oz. I have two spinning rods rigged accordingly. I have used Loomis 723 imx spin jig rods for years, but just picked up two new tatula spinning rods in 6'6", rated 1/8-3/4oz, and they have a really short rear grip. Really excited to use them.

Daiwa Fuego CT or Shimano SLX
You really need an SV spool'd Daiwa in your life. But out of the two choices, I'd just pick which one is the most comfortable to hold. Both models cast plenty far, so whichever feels the best on the rod it's intended for is my thinking.

Yo-zuri Hybrid as a leader for braid?
Took a guided trip out to sea in California a few years ago. My guide put us on fish, and then just sat back and tied leaders all day using a bulk spool of yozuri hybrid (15 or 20lb). I bet if we were on a freshwater lake he would have used the same (brand, not lb test)

Scorpion DC vs Curado DC
I know the newer curado DC uses the dc4 vs the dc5 that is in the scorpion. Tackle tour has done a review of each. Curado DC http://tackletour.com/reviewshimanocurado150dc.html Scorpion DC http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshim17scorpdc.html

What line on avid x 68 mxf?
I owned the original avid in that model almost 20yrs ago, and I had it spooled with 10lb trilene xl. These days I'd pick a fluorocarbon in 8 or 10lb.

Anybody out there using sluggos?
I still use them. I even have a bunch of the texposer hooks that they made specifically for the sluggo.
-
Setup for Zoom Super Fluke?
I throw flukes on a spinning rod like what you were using most of the time. I've drawn many guys who throw flukes on their casting rod and work it fast covering water, but I generally work mine slower.

Baitcaster under 130$?
They are currently out, but, I'd check back at the beginning of next month. The XH's sell better and are generally 20-$30 higher. https://www.ozarksource.com/daiwa-tatula-sv-tws-bcast-reel-7-2crbb-1.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=1o2&scid=scplp450421&sc_intid=450421&gclid=CjwKCAiAqaTjBRAdEiwAOdx9xqx106VVZa4rYviJhGUg3HzlaU0Xr55Wg7yWGAO0E-q5vNeyfg1Z-RoCSzUQAv

If you could only have one baitcasting rod...
I'd go with an H20 Ethos rod from Academy in the 7'MH flavor, paired with an 8.1 gear Daiwa Fuego CT casting reel.

How far have you gone to retrieve a lure?
Not far enough on the 3 or 4 wec cranks I have lost over the years.
-
Baitcaster under 130$?
Great option as well
-
Baitcaster under 130$?
Tatula sv can be had for under $130.

Airrus Nano Fusion Rod
Havent heard much from Airrus since Ken Whiting left. He had airrus at the forefront of rod technology (he's the man behind the nanofusion) and won the brand a few awards. I remember reading about customer service issues, but it's been years. Wonder if ol Ken is still in the game. I think he went to carrot sticks after airrus, but I could be wrong.

Please help me choose my first NRX! :)
852. I'd rather throw 1/4oz jigs on the 852 than fish jerkbaits on the 853. I have an 803 spinning, and it's just too stiff for jerkbaits. Your intended baits really make it a debatable choice.

Is rod sensitivity more about feeling bites or feeling bottom/structure?
The pros fish what their sponsors instruct them to; usually around the $100-$120 range because that is the largest and most competitive segment of the rod market. But no, it doesnt affect their fishing. Japanese anglers typically spend more on their tackle, so tahkiro gets to use zillions to influence that market, while all the American daiwa pros use tatulas.

Using the same rods and reels
I also remember when clunn decided he was going to use a 7ft mh for everything. I thought "what happens when your schedule has okeechobee on it?"

New '19 steez ct tws
These prices are indeed high...even for the enthusiast level. I have a couple of the new steez tw's, but paid $380. Most I've ever paid for a reel. When the government reopens and the dollar gets stronger, I will be game for at least the new certate.
