  1. After getting progressive lenses, now I can tie an FG-with the tool. I do tie them all at home, where being stationary and having good light helps.
  2. @Lead Head, the OG Zillions are the 3/4 ton pickup of bass fishing. Love mine, especially the crazy crankers.
  3. Buying-no, but all of my baitcasters are old. I fell in love with Team Daiwa-X and TDZ and see zero reason to switch. I also have a couple of Shimano greenies and Citica 200Es which are just bulletproof reels. To me they are like late 90s Hondas and Toyotas, they go forever.
  4. One thing to keep in mind, the jerkbait will go deeper on lighter line. I fish similar waters here in NH, and use (copoly actually) mono until the weeds really come up in June then the braid comes out.
  5. Haven't watched yet, but he is one of my favorite YouTubers.
  6. @HawkeyeSmallie, it isn’t heavy at all. I definitely recommend scuffing the plastic with some rough grit sandpaper so the glue can have something to bite into. Thanks for the kind words, BTW.
  7. I super glue rare earth magnets in my terminal tackle box. I could drop it in the driveway and not lose a hook. It also eliminates the rattling that drives me crazy when its in the truck.
  8. I believe so, but NH license gets you to the first land bridge in VT. No backwater access. The river starts at the Connecticut lakes in Pittsburg, NH, just south of the Canadian border.
  9. I live in NH and fish in all the states you mentioned, it is frustrating-especially as a sportsman who takes pride in not leaving a trace. I'm just so glad that the loons only migrate to lead free states in the winter...
  10. They also had Arvell Reese spying Demond and played amazingly gap sound football. Knowles played man and refused to spy Nico, in his most stubborn move since doing the same thing vs Georgia-allowing Stetson Bennett to work his magic. Had Knowles sat in a soft zone....oh well.
  11. Or a drop shot. Never. To answer the original question, I use ball heads with Gamakatsus or the new finesse swimbait head from do-it.
  12. @Rockhopper, J Roc is in both, he's one of my favorites on TPB.
  13. Fiddling around with some color shift while making some smallmouth grubs.
  14. PourMyOwn replied to gim's topic in Hunting Forum
One of my favorites too, I have a springer spaniel here and no pheasants in (at least my part of) NH. She does love the grouse though!
  15. I use a 7.1 Team Daiwa Zillion from the same era, for the same reasons.
  16. Thanks, Glenn. Great mention of the 3XD, its one of my favorites.
  17. I focus on tackle making and reel maintenance in the winter. Here in NH we get a lot of ice, so I do ice fish too-and snowmobile, sometimes both...
  18. Mine was really reasonable on ebay. I'm kind of a weirdo in that I'll go out with 1980's equipment for a jon boat trip. Pistol grip rods, Ryobi V mag reels, etc...it's a blast.
  19. If the plastic were clear then maybe you'd see the head. I don't really care about the color-I don't like handling lead and I use a different color for different weight heads. The black head is heavier than the green one, but at a glance they look similar when unpainted. It helps me choose the right one more than anything.
  20. My wife got me this for my birthday, it's just like my first tackle box. I am putting my old Bombers in it, doesn't seem right to put anything new in there.
  21. I had no choice. As soon as I was out of diapers my dad took me. I took many a nap curled up under the driver's console of that old Fisher marine.
  22. Ribeye, salt only, pulled from the charcoal at 125 degrees please. Or a chuckeye if you have one. Ill be over at 6.
  23. Made some 2.75" tubes and heads in these colors today. I understand that nobody will see the jigheads, but I don't like touching bare lead.
  24. If you're powder painting, I'd recommend getting some shrink tubing. Cover the hook eyes with it and cleanup after paint is a breeze. Clearing out hook eyes is no fun.
  25. Have you looked at Douglas? I've used their rods-foshing Erie with a guide and was very impressed.
