Trebble Hooks
I haven't had too many problems with stock hooks on the name brands. Lucky Craft, Megabass, SK, Jackall.. If I have to switch hooks I usually go with an Owner ST-36.

My absolute most fun lure to fish is........
As most have said, topwater is always fun. I recently got a great deal on a Megabass Beetle-X and I am itching to give it a shot. I've got a private pond I go to that has some great largemouth in it, but also dozens of well fed Rainbow Trout. I'm hoping they both crush it! If it works I may have to fork out the money for a few more and maybe some Sigletts.

Crankbait setup - whats the best gear ratio?
IMO 8.1:1 is far too high. Moreso than ratio's look at the Inches Per Turn.. I would be looking at mid-20s".

Reels Made In Japan V China V Korea V Malaysia V Usa
Made in Canada! My Lew's reels made in Korea and my Curado 70s made in Malaysia are both great. These modern day reels are pretty impressive no matter where they come from. The biggest fish I've ever seen was yanked in on a Spiderman Zebco rod.. from then on I stopped thinking so much.

What type of line(s) are you using most often?

The latest sale thread
I use 50lb FX2 and its my go to braid. I don't know how I feel about the Green/Blue line though.. It has an incredibly thin diameter for 50lb braid and I don't have any digging issues.

Deep suspending jerkbaits
Excalibur Fat Free Shad suspending. Its not necessarily a twitch style jerkbait but it'll get down there and stay there.

What Gear Ratio For Crankbait Rod?
Consider the Inches Per Turn, not necessarily the ratio.

New Fenwick AETOS rod - reel won't tighten down?

Jerkbait Rod Glass or graphite?
I'm genuinely addicted to jerkbaits at this point, I fish them no matter what. I figure with the right noise/rattle and the right color I still have a chance. I always follow them up with a keitech crazy flapper along the bottom, they work well in tandem together.

Jerkbait Rod Glass or graphite?
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately for me, I fish a lot of stained water and it can be difficult to get the sort of results I want when using a jerkbait. Fishing in stained water I want that bait to be in the strike zone as long as possible, and with the 6'6" M/F rod I used before my twitches were closer to sweeps. With the moderate action it takes a lot more force to replicate the distance it would cover prior. I like it much better. It's similar to being able to work a walk the dog style topwater bait that can stay in one place for 5-6 twitches.

Jerkbait Rod Glass or graphite?
My last jerkbait rod had a fast tip and when I would give it a few twitches it would move the bait way too far from the strike zone. Three quick twitches would move the lure a good 3 feet. I've noticed that with a slower tip my lure still has the same erratic action but covers far less water.
