  1. Thanks for the video. Looks like they are going to work out great!! I really wanted them to work on my boat but they did not have the addition support that yours have. Also the ramps that I launch at are really steep, so steep, that I don't have to get in the water to launch, if fact, I could push my boat off with one hand very easy to launch when I had them on. When my bunks wear out, I might reconsider these again with the reinforcement. Glad they worked out for you.
  2. Same here, the Mustad KVD is a great hook.
  3. Use Sunline Super Natural for my topwater and jerkbaits.
  4. I have used Super Natural for a few years, been really satisfied with it. I go with 16# test which is smaller dia. than most other brands 14# test.
  5. I have never really thought about this. I have always just tie the knot, wet it, cinch it down. Where it lands is where it lands. I don't think it really matters.
  6. I don't use snaps but if I did, I would take off the split rings.
  7. I bought some years ago when they were not reinforced with al. strip. I eventually had to take them off. I had the 8 ft. ones and there were not enough support. I only had 2 points to attach them. Maybe if I had a third support they would have worked. Also, don't take the winch off until you are backed up into the water these thing are super slick. Being slick also makes it hard to power load. You have to keep you motor running and in gear in order to hook up the winch. If you don't. it will start to slide back into the water. They really didn't work for me. I have read where a lot of people really liked them. I was just not really happy with them.
  8. If you are reading good voltage, I wouldn't think it would be a bad electrical connection. Like DanielG suggested, should like it could be a transducer connection or either a setting that has got off. I would call Garmin, they got good support.
  9. Too busy on my home waters for me. Think I will do some odds and ends around the house and maybe grill out, second thought, think I will eat out!! Hope everyone has a great and safe Labor Day!!
  10. Got charts, then navigation, next hit the menu button, select way points and tracks, then tracks. select off. That should do it.
  11. They don't make a 1.5. You might be thinking a KVD squarebill. Berkley Length Weight Depth Squarebull 3.5 2" 1/4oz 2-5ft Squarebull 5.5 2-3/8" 3/8oz 3-6ft Squarebull 7.5 2-3/4" 5/8oz 4-8ft
  12. I agree, they are a great rod for $100. Right now, get it for $85 at TW.
  13. I have 3 spinning outfits. All have Hi Vis yellow Power Pro braid, 10# test with 7# Sunline Sniper FC. Works for me. The only line besides braid that I likes is Berkley Sensation. It cast great with min. trouble. I just had to have a line I could see.
  14. Same bait, one says Square Bull, other Pit Bull.
  15. Never use a swivel, I like Zoom's Twin tail or just a regular skirt.
  16. Don't rule out a rod just because it does not have a hook keeper. These by Fuji work really well. I like they flip out of the way when you don't use it.
  17. I have the 6'6" that they don't make any more. Love mine. That's a good price.
  18. I have ordered several rods from SO and was very satisfied with their shipping and their prices.

  20. I don't know if it is the number 1 color but I sure have caught a bunch of fish using green pumpkin. About the only other color I throw is junebug. Between the 2, one seems to always work.
  21. Koz, seen this? http://proflex5.com/
  22. I only carry 2 colors for the most part, Junebug and Green Pumpkin. I am kind of like Gerald Swindle when they asked him the color of jigs he throws. He said, I will start will brown, if that don't work I will go with black or, I will start with black, if that don't work, I will go with brown.
  23. Medium will work, tried the M/L and went back to the Medium. I use the Lews Custom Speed Stick, don't know nothing about the Duckett rods. I believe Ned even uses some Medium rods. The key is setting the drag.
