  1. For EWG hooks I use a side sweeping hook set, for round bend hooks, I use the upward swing. Power doesn't set the hook, speed does. I use a 2 handed hook set when I use the round bend hooks, it is kind of like popping a whip.
  2. I love Suline, have the fc and mono on most reels but I have 40# Power Pro on my frog/carolina/pitching rod and have never broke it.
  3. Use Pitbull Cutters. They are a little pricey but worth it. Have no idea on the Powell Rods.
  4. There are bigger fish but I wouldn't complain with 2 and 3 pounders.
  5. I use glass/graphite rods for my crankbaits so I assumme it would be moderate.
  6. You need to use whatever suits you. I use braid/fc leader on my spinning, mono on my topwater and crankbait, and FC on my worm/spinnerbait.
  7. Like other said, Z Man floats the hook. Theirs is called ZinkerZ. All their baits that is made with ElaZtech will float. Strike King makes one also, it is the same worm as the ZMan worm.

Since I have had skin cancer removed, I take it very serious. I wear a hat with a large brim and a flap that hangs down in the back to protect the neck along with sunglasses. I also wear Huk shirts, which is very comfortable and gloves.
  9. Anyone used this ?? Never mind, it has expired.
  10. I have been getting it for a bunch of years. Their is some overlap articles but I think it is still worth the money. Besides, I don't mind giving to an organization that has put bass fishing where it is today.
  11. Randy Howell, besides a great fisherman, he is a super nice guy. Got to meet him when the Elites came to Barnett.
  12. A 8" Junebug lizard is a hot bait at Ross Barnett in the springtime but I seem to catch the numbers on the 6"
  13. You said that one of your bunks was loose and you had to tighten it up with pliers, I think that bunk is still moving on you. I had the same problem and getting them bunk bolts really tight solved my problem. I doubt you could get it tight enough with pliers.
  14. Never had that to happen, does sound like nerve problem.
  15. They say Mountain Dew because it has more acid than any soft drink, ask any dentist.
  16. It works because of the acid in soft drinks.
  17. It works, I have done it numerous times.

To me this is the perfect jig head for the Ned rig. 1/16oz with a small weedguard.
  19. Next time you catch a bass bleeding, pour a little Mt. Dew down their throat where it is bleeding. It works, really !!!!
  20. 50# is the lightest I would go.
  21. The chatterbait is much like the Ned rig, you can't fish it wrong. I have caught bass slow rolling on the bottom, to buzzing on the top. Let the fish tell you how they like it.
  22. Don't think it is a Bandit, eyes are wrong. I say it is a Bomber of some sort. This pic is a Fat A Bomber. Not exactly the same pattern but close.
  23. Maybe not a true squarebill but I take a Bandit 100 over any of the rest.
  24. Been checked a few times and have always had my license. All I need now is my drivers license, you don't need a fishing license if your over 65 in Mississippi.
  25. I guess I am old fashion. Still throw the ole worm after all these years.
